Moving away from home can be a mixture of exciting and intimidating. When moving to college, forgetting something minor falls short on the list of things to worry about. The fear doesn’t hit until about 4 a.m., when you're trying to go to sleep, but your mind is racing from thought to thought. Many times, it's because we've forgotten something. The idea of forgetting something is sure to get your heart racing. No need to feel silly, we’ve all been there. Here is a list of a few commonly forgotten items so that you aren't stuck late-night stressing!
1. Screwdriver
Forgetting something as tiny as a screwdriver can put a complete halt to the move in process. Have a bookshelf you need put together? Good luck trying without this simple tool!
2. Changing Your Address
This one proved to be a hassle for me. Picture this: you sign into Amazon and finally get all your textbooks for the right price. You click through shipping and suddenly your textbooks end up miles away on mom’s doorstep. Don't forget to update your address on Amazon, at your bank or for any bills you may need!
3. Toiletries
Everything is all peachy until you wake up the next morning and can’t find your makeup bag…
4. Everyday shoes
At home, you walk in, kick off your shoes off and relax, knowing that when the time comes, they will be there waiting for you. However, they don’t automatically arrive at your new home, you have to take them with you!
5. Silverware
Living at home, when it was time to eat we didn't think twice about having a knife and fork. It's not until you’re craving noodles late at night that you realize over a steamy bowl of Ramen, you forgot to bring silverware.
