Forever Friends

The type of people who call your parents mom and dad and make themselves feel at home by eating directly out of your refrigerator without even having to ask.

Forever friends are the people you will be stuck with for the rest of your life. The people you call in the middle of the night while you're crying into a tub of Ben and Jerrys ice cream due to your broken heart. The ones you can be your silly self with and not have any fear of being judged for it. Because let's face it, they're probably being just as weird with you.

They are your go to guys and gals. The ones you confide it, consider family, and would take a bullet for. Your ride or dies. They mean the world to you and you do not get to thank them very often for being just flat out awesome.

Thank you for never making me feel like I am either crazy or alone. Sometimes I just need validation and you are so good at making me feel loved and sane.

Thank you for always being there for me. Even when it was hard for you or me.

Thank you for wiping away those tears.

Thank you for loving me as me. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Thank you for putting this smile on my face. I do not know what I would do if I did not have you there to make me laugh.

Thank you for singing along with me in the car. Loudly too.

Thank you for pushing me to always being my best, and reminding me what I actually deserve.

Thank you for the late night abductions when I just needed time to get away from it all.

Thank you for laughing at my jokes... even when they're absolutely lame at times.

Thank you for all-nighter life talks that make think about why life truly matters.

Thank you for not punching me in the face when I am doing something obviously stupid.

Thank you for accepting me after I did that stupid thing. And then doing it again cause I didn't learn my lesson the first time.

Thank you for helping me put back together my life when it seems like a mess.

Thank you for all of the wonderful memories we have had together. And here's to many more.

Thank you for sticking through it all. For still being here.

You are seriously the bees knees. The cat's whiskers. The monkey's pajamas. You keep my world calm and my soul happy. I do not know what I would do without you and I never want to find out.

I value you so much more than I could ever express. You are a representation some of my happiest memories as well as some of my hardest goodbyes. Although, I know it's never a goodbye it is always just a "see you later."

After my years of trying to figure out who I am and what I want to do with my life, having these people by my side has made it all the more worth it. I do not say thank you enough for being a part of my life and making every waking moment better with your presence.

I will be there for you through thick and thin and when times get tough for the rest of our lives. I will be one phone call or text away from you at all times and will do whatever it takes to make you as happy as you have made me.

Thank you for being you and being a huge part of my life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
