There are days when you just don't feel like getting out of bed, or doing anything, really. These days will come and go, but they sometimes leave questions that swirl around in your head after the groggy feeling is gone. It can make you question your job, your relationship and even your life at times. One day you wake up, and suddenly you won't have all the answers you thought you would. When you feel like giving up, whether it be on education, friendships or life, there are some things that you need to remember.
You are loved. Maybe right now it's not by the person you want it to be, but just know there are people out there that love and care for you. Sometimes it's easy to forget the people that are always there for you because you take them for granted; don't. Always remember there are people out there you can call, and they'll drop everything to be with you. Keep these people in mind when you're feeling down on yourself.
It is OK to be lost. Most people believe they will have everything "all figured out" by the time they get out of college; most don't. Keep in mind that everyone feels lost at times and it is OK to have those feelings. Sometimes it takes longer than you expect to figure things out; life doesn't run on your schedule. It's unrealistic to believe that everything will be figured out by the age of 22. Slow down; there's no rush to the finish line.
Learn to let go. Whether it be a relationship or the A that you must get in calculus, learn that it is OK to loosen up a little and have some fun. Not everything has to be serious. If it is, you'll definitely lose your mind. Learn that there are going to be other relationships and other grades, and if this one doesn't work out, it's OK. There's no reason to be stressing yourself out to be perfect when there is no such thing as that. It's OK to take time for yourself and relax.
So, when the days seem to become more and more dreary, remember that this doesn't only happen to you, it happens to everyone. It is OK to feel a little stuck in the mud; things will become clearer as you learn. Making mistakes are normal, and there is no reason to expect otherwise; don't beat yourself up over a grade that can't be changed. Take life as it comes to you, and make sure the pitfalls you have become lessons to shape your future. And most importantly, remember there are always people out there that will love and support you. It is OK to reach out to them when you need help or comfort. And lastly, it will be OK.
