For The Friend I Wasn't Expecting

Have you ever met someone and expected them to have little to no impact on your life whatsoever? Or maybe you met them and at first didn't want anything to do with them. Well, this article is going to be about someone I met and, to be honest, didn't like them very much at first. She drove me nuts, I thought she was going to be interested in my girlfriend, and I think I was just trying to find excuses to be jealous and not like this girl. Turns out, this one friend was going to turn my world upside down and come into my life when I needed her the most, without me even realizing it.

As you all know by now, considering I've talked about it a few times now, I graduated from beauty school earlier this year. When I first began at school, I was not expecting to make any friends. I was expecting to go there, do my work, and graduate. My fiancee also was in my class and befriended this little blonde girl from Florida. My initial response was "what the hell is this girl doing here from Florida, there is a Douglas J Aveda Institute in Nashville which is a lot closer to home". As their friendship grew, I couldn't tell if this little blonde was hitting on my woman or just super friendly. My "gaydar" wasn't reliable and I didn't want to assume. Well, after her and my fiancee had grown closer I learned that she was in fact bisexual. Immediately, I saw her as a threat. But after actually sitting down and being open minded, I decided to give her a chance. We began hanging out with her more often and I found myself growing fond of her.

I never expected the friendship I have with this girl. She is truly, one of the best friends you could ever ask for. She loves making people happy and enjoys making sure they feel loved. Like...this girl fronted me some money so I could get this puppy I fell in love with. Yeah, she's THAT good of a friend. She got me A PUPPY and offered to keep it at her apartment because it made me happy and I wasn't sure if I was going to be allowed to have it at my own place.

I'm so thankful for EVERYTHING that she has done for me. I could name twenty things off the top of my head that she has done for me and I appreciate every one of them. I only hope to be half the person she is. She always knows how to put a smile on my face when I'm upset, she helps me learn how to adult, and even makes me a bomb ass home-cooked meal.

Priscilla, I'm so glad you decided to stay here in Michigan and take on this new journey with Paris, Emily, and I. I'm so glad you feed me, help raise our little "zoo" together, and live spontaneously like me. You're such an amazing friend and I can't wait to see where life takes us and our friendship. Thank you for being so great to Paris and I.

Even though I pick on you a lot, I'm not sure what I would do without you. I hope you enjoyed your article all about you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
