Emily Westcott, better known as Big Mama Westcort, is a junior in Kappa Alpha Theta. She's studying English but hopes to attend law school as an intellectual property lawyer and eventually become a literary agent. (Unreal!) She grew up in Carmel, Ind., and this spring semester, she is studying abroad in London, England!

Besides being one of the most genuine, hard working people I know, Emily is hilarious and incredibly fun. These are a few of her favorite things.

1. What’s your favorite food?

My favorite food is chocolate chip waffles. The breakfast food obsession is real. But I’m also notorious for late-night Doba runs.

2. What is your life anthem?

I will always love “Float On” by Modest Mouse. However, my party anthem is “Timber” by Kesha and Pitbull, which I will admit is an awful song. But it’s impossible not to dance to.

3. If you were a character from a book or movie, who would you be and why?

I would be Buddy from Elf  because Will Ferrell is my spirit animal, and I too love the holidays and large amounts of unhealthy foods.

4. If you hadn’t been born into this decade when and where would you like to have lived?

I would have thrived during the 60s. I would have absolutely loved experiencing Woodstock.

5. Finish this sentence: If I had an unlimited supply of money I would …

Share it! I would love to make someone’s lifelong dream come true. I would also travel the world.

6. Why are you going abroad, and what made you pick London?

Going abroad is a great opportunity to explore the world a little more before career responsibilities hit, so I jumped at the excuse to travel with friends in Europe. I chose London because of the literary history (nerd alert) and because there are no language barriers. I’ve never been to England, but I am already in love with it. I’m looking forward to perfecting my British accent … it needs some work.

7. What’s the one place, anywhere in the world, you’re dying to go to and why?

I am dying to go to Greece. Have you ever seen an unimpressive picture of Greek scenery? That’s what I thought.

8. With finals coming up quickly, how do you get through studying?

Oh, I am a strong believer in all-nighters. Naps are key.

9. What has been your favorite moment so far at IU?

My favorite moment at IU was when Theta won Little 500 last year. I still get the chills thinking about it.

11. You’re a new addition to the Crayola Crayon box, what color would you be and why?

I would be a marbled Crayon with the colors of a sunset. I think a creative color name would be “Sunset.”

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
