Ugh, finals are once again upon us and as the dark cloud of absolute misery rolls in over our once sunny horizons, I wonder how I will find any joy in the next two weeks. So, naturally, I turned to my trusty superweapon, Spotify, in search of some music to bring me some solace as I drown in stress. Here are 10 happy, folksy songs to make ya’ feel good as you embark on the treacherous journey that is finals.

1. “Shake” by The Head and the Heart

“The wind, yes, the wind keeps howling.” Yup, life goes on. It will not be the end of the world if you do not do well on this final.

2. “Saturday Sun” by Vance Joy

Hey, maybe on your study break you’ll take a walk in the Saturday sun and meet someone too. I mean you have at least one thing in common, death by finals.

3. “Cleopatra” by The Lumineers

“I was late for this, late for that…” You know, I was thinking the same thing. Reflecting back on the semester, trying to prepare for a cumulative exam can really give you some regrets for all those times you chose to sleep late…

4. “Sedona” by Houndmouth

“The Devil’s in a rush…” Retweet. After this semester I will be entering in to my senior year. Anyone want to tell me when I go so old?

5. “Amadeus” by Family and Friends

“Time once told me we're scared the most of those things we can't control or know or understand.” Have no fear if you don’t know how your final grade is going to come out. It is what it is, so let it be.

6. “Shape of Love” by Passenger

I honestly just like the beat and melody to this. It makes me happy. Also, the lyrics are totes adorbs.

7. “Put it Together” by Langhorne Slim

“Now they're asking us questions to things we don't know.” Anyone else scared they’re going to look at an exam and feel like they learned nothing the entire semester?

8. “S.O.B.” by Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats

Yeah, son of a bitch, give me a drink is exactly what I’ll be saying after this is all over.

9. “Graveclothes” by Birdtalker

“Thoughts your thinking make you feel like you’re dead, but you can grow a garden out the top of your head.” Shake your graveclothes off and don’t get lost inside your head. You got this.

10. “White Flag” by Joseph

“I'll be an army, no you're not gonna stop me gettin' through.” YAS, BURN THE WHITED FLAG. WE CAN DO THIS.

Even if you’re not really into folk music, these songs are so upbeat you won’t be able to avoid feeling a bit better after listening to them. If you want more music like this, I highly recommend the “Happy Folk,” playlist on Spotify. Good luck on finals, keep yourself happy and healthy.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
