If you don’t already have a seasonal job arranged with your previous employer, you are probably trying to land a paying job. Here are some options, because there isn't always a sign in the window.
1. Physically go into stores and ask if they’re hiring.
This usually doesn’t work, especially in a popular city or crowded suburb, but you could get lucky. It’s a long process that will get you a lot of ‘Sorry, we’re not hiring. But you cant still fill out an application.’
2. Ask working friends if their work place is hiring.
Again this usually won’t yield results, but you could have luck on your side.
Okay, both of these failed to get you a steady income and now it’s a few weeks into summer and still no job. You’re out of ideas and you think, That’s it, I’ll never get a job because nobody is hiring. Fortunately, that’s not true. You just need to know how to look.
3. Snagajob.com
This is a free online website that tells you what places are hiring and what positions are open. You can use your zip code or the name of a mall to search jobs by location until you find a few to apply to. Once you hit apply, the site will give you sections of a resume to fill out from personal profile (which includes your name and contact info), prior work experience and skills, education (past and present), to a reference. It saves this information and you can send it out to any working establishment. It’s super easy and quick. It also raises your chances of getting a job, because you end up applying to more places than you would’ve by going to places in person.
4. Apps.
If websites aren’t up your alley, they are multiple phone apps that perform the same basic function as snagajob.com. They are slightly less effective than the websites only because smartphone quality has yet to match a computer. But some popular apps that can be found for free in the appstore are: LinkedIn Job Search, Glassdoor Job Search, and JobAware.

5. Online Surveys.
You can make extra money online by filling out surveys. Completed surveys are worth points (more points the longer they are) and a certain amount of points equals money. You can set up a PayPal account to transfer the money and voila easy earned money in the pocket. Some survey sites include:
MySurvey, Swaybacks, and Toluna Survey Center.
