In this time and age, everyone has taken an Uber at some point in their life. Being a college kid, my friends and I are very familiar with how Uber operates. At the beginning of using the car service, my friends and I were each very weary of the idea of letting a complete stranger take us around the city, but now with only about a month of school left, we have become very immune to all things Uber. One of the very first things we learned was the diversity of the drivers. From different ethnicities, religions, to personalities, you can experience a lot within a twenty minute car ride. So I've composited an list of the five Uber drivers you'll meet while using Uber.
1. The friendly normal one
You are more likely to get these drivers than others. They're always very nice; they'll probably offer you mints or gum. You'll make small talk with them. You'll discuss their children, the college they went to, and their career. They'll get four stars just for being a typical person.
2. The quiet one
Not much to say about this one. He'll ask you for your name to make sure he picked up the right person, but besides that, you'll find yourself sitting in silence for the rest of the trip.
3. The guy who has another job on the side.
This guy is running a business. Well, technically it's a drug business. As soon as you sit down in the car with your friends, the driver asks a few questions about you guys to get to know you better. Before you know it, the driver is trying to pass along his number to you since he apparently has "the best stuff in the city."
4. The newbie
They're always super sweet, but they never know exactly what they're doing. You help them work the Uber app. You give them directions since they haven't quite set up their GPS yet. You even help explain to them the basics of Uber and how it all works.
5. The guy who's creepier in real life than his Uber picture
Of course the very first thing you do when an Uber comes to pick you up is check out their picture. When you look at this guy, you immediately think about how shady he looks. You don't give it a second thought since that's how everyone's Uber pictures looks. You get into the car and soon find out that the driver is actually worse than his picture. He makes a few uncomfortable comments and even tries to peep over your friends cleavage. All in all, you can't wait for the car ride to end.
Even though some Uber drivers can be quite strange to say the least, they still did their job and took you to your desired location. That's honestly all I could ask for. Now if you could excuse me, I've got to go catch my Uber.
