The Five Types of Friends Everyone Has

Everyone has different personality traits that stick out more than others.

The Five Types of Friends Everyone Has

What kind are you? The loyal-no-matter-what, the sometimes-too-honest, or the comedian?

Friends are a lot like snowflakes. They are all slightly different but equally amazing.

1. The Tardy Friend

These people mean well, but somehow no matter how hard they try they always keep you waiting for what feels like a century. When they say “See you at 1”, you know you’ll really be seeing them at about 2:30...ish (what is –ish? 2:09? 2:17?). You don’t even bother getting ready until you receive that, “leaving soon” text. They don’t mean to keep you waiting, they just tend to be the unfortunate souls who constantly find themselves in unavoidable situations that take years to solve (like picking an outfit for the day). However, there’s really not much you can do about this situation. Although it can be a drag to wait for them, when you finally do get together you always have a blast (even if that blast starts two hours later than originally planned).

2. The Friend Who Tells It Like It is

This is the one friend you can vent to about all the people you are both extremely annoyed by. These tend to be the people you have the most, “don’t repeat this..." (insert a huge sigh and a hair flip emoji here) moments with. This may seem like your, "typical selfish, backstabbing slut faced ho-bag, but in reality, she’s so much more” friend. But in all seriousness (and Mean Girls quotes aside), these are the friends who aren’t afraid to tell you when an article of clothing is less than perfect, or just downright fugly. Although these types of friends can come across as rude, they really do have your best interest at heart and always dislike the same people you do.

3. The Fun Friend

You can’t really just “chill” (people are still using this as a verb, right?) with this friend. A movie night is out of the question. This person seeks adventure, and you just so happen to be along for the ride. This is the only person that you’d want to get in trouble with, the only one you go on random escapades with, and the one you always end up saying, “what just happened?” to. You may forget all of the details of each crazy moment, but you’ll never forget the fun that was had and the many laughs you two shared.

4. The Heartfelt Friend

This is the friend that is always there when you need a shoulder to lean on, regardless of the time of day (they live to answer your 3AM phone calls). They listen to all of your problems, big or small. They help you with everything, whether it’s figuring out which Instagram filter to use or deciding how to reply to a text from that special someone. These kind of friends have your back.

5. The Funny Friend

Pretty self-explanatory. These are the people that have a witty reply to just about everything you tell them, no matter the subject matter. They can make you laugh when you’re about to cry, and even make you laugh until you cry.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
