Every college town has bars. There are the bars that everyone goes to and the bars you wouldn’t go to even if you got paid. The bar culture is huge at almost any school, and you tend to see the same types of bars over and over again. Here are the five types of bars every college town has.
1. The party bar. This place has pumping music and a great DJ. Everyone’s dancing and singing along. You feel like you're at a "Project X"-type party that won’t get shut down. And if you stay until last call, who could blame you with all the fun that it is?
2. The smelly bar. Sure, they have some of the best drinks around and maybe the cover isn’t too high, but the stench from that place sticks with you for days on end. Everyone on campus jokes about how bad it smells and how you shouldn’t go there, but in the end, you know its atmosphere and signature drink will keep you coming back for more.
3. The ghost bar. It’s the bar that you’ll hear about every once in awhile, but does it really exist? You’ve never actually seen it, but you seem to keep hearing about it from people. If it does exist, it’s either in the early stages of being up-and-coming or had its heyday back in the 80's.
4. The trashy bar. It has sticky floors and strange poles on the dance floor. You probably get a weird feeling being there, but secretly, it’s one of your favorites. Sure, it looks like it came out of a bad movie, but the party there always gets pretty insane.
5. THE Bar. Everyone knows what bar this is, and everyone tries to go. Whether it’s a Monday night or a Friday night, this place is ALWAYS happening. Some of your best stories could very easily start or end here. You and your friends are always talking about wanting to stop there, and who could blame you?
There you have it, the five bars you are bound to see, no matter what school you go to.
