Apart from the main issues petite girls face, like reaching things on a top shelf, there are some things we deal with that taller people overlook. And by petite I don't just mean short, I mean short, thin, small chest and a small butt. Pretty much the opposite of a Kardashian.
1. Looking Younger Than You Actually Are
Nine times out of ten when you tell someone your age they're shocked because you look so much younger. Thankfully a mature personality can balance this out, but at first look, a person won't be able to tell that you're not actually fifteen, you're twenty.
2. Always The "Cute" One, Never The "Hot" One
It doesn't matter how you dress, you always feel that with your lack of cleavage or big booty that you'll never be more than the "cute" friend that your hot friends brought out. People look at you and say "You're so adorable and small!" And inside you cringe. Even when you dress "sexy" you almost feel like a little kid who tried on her mother's clothes. We don't have those long model legs or sexy curves that we see in magazines. In short, petite girls have a harder time with sex appeal than your average person.
3. Every Centimeter Is Important
You can ask any tall person how tall they are and they'll respond with an estimate or a simple answer. But if you ask a petite person how tall they are they'll give you an answer similar to, "Five-foot, three point nine inches but I think I'm getting taller!"
4. Pants Are Almost Always The Enemy
Pant shopping is ALWAYS a nightmare. You want to wear a pair of those cute flowy pants? Yeah, good luck finding them in size "short a** girl." Pants are almost always too long and need to be folded or hemmed. And even if you miraculously find the right length, your lack of booty makes the jeans loose on the waist and bottom. Jeggings with a "short" option are our best friend.
5. Being Overlooked In A Crowd
It's so easy to be lost in a crowd, football game, or even a group picture. If you're not in the very front row of everything you'll have to pretend to be a ballerina and see how long your tippy toes can handle the pressure of standing on them. People look right over your head in a crowd and the back of people's shirts become a common sight.
Being little is a struggle, from self-esteem to shopping to concerts. But it's what makes you you and it's better to embrace it. Your boobs may not be big, but your heart is and that's what matters.
