It is that time of year, again. Finals are over and the mass exodus back home has begun. Break has officially started for a great deal of campuses across the nation and, now, hometowns are becoming filled with college students bored out of their minds. As of late, a popular thing to do while on break, other than count the days until it is time to go back to school, is marathon-ing a TV show, because if you think about it, they are just really long movies if watched in succession. With that in mind, here are five great choices that need to be watched this break.
Entourage. This show was a staple on HBO and is still loved by people across the country, although a lot of these viewers are probably guys. Entourage follows the life of Vinnie Chase, as he lives in Hollywood while working as a successful actor. He also brings his group of friends along wherever he goes and, of course, hilarity ensues. This show is loosely based on actor Mark Wahlberg's experiences when getting into the acting business and moving out to Hollywood with his group of friends.
House of Cards. Unless you were living under a rock this past year, you would know that House Of Cards is a political drama that is also a Netflix Original. If you have not seen the two seasons that are already out on Netflix, then you are seriously missing out. That's all that needs to be said about this great show.
Californication. This choice may be a little more personal, but everyone I have asked, who has seen Californication, think it is a pretty great show. It focuses on a writer who moves to California, has some ups and downs, and basically follows how the state has messed with every facet of his life. David Duchovny is great in the leading role, and it is pretty easy to breeze through the 30-minute episodes.
Sherlock. You might call this one cheating, but it is too great to pass up. Sherlock is a series that plays on BBC and comes out in three episode seasons every couple years, or so, and each episode is about an hour and a half long. It is like a new trilogy releases every year and, right now, there are three seasons of it. While it may be another rehashing of the classic Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stories, it is still a phenomenal show. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes, and Martin Freeman as John Watson.
Game Of Thrones. Other than House Of Cards, Game Of Thrones is a great series that takes place in a fantasy world of dragons, fighting and the threat that winter is coming soon. If your friends have not already convinced you to give Game Of Thrones a shot, then there is something wrong with them. Or they may not have seen it, and if this is the case, then you should convince them to watch it with you.
