Five Reasons Women Date Their Own Mr. Big

For six years, Carrie Bradshaw from Sex And The City  waited around and repeatedly got her heart broken by Mr. Big. Even after everything he did to her, she went crawling back to him and, eventually, married the guy. Most women find themselves, at one point in their life, with a Mr. Big and are just as dumb as Carrie. The only problem is Carrie got a happy ending because someone wrote it for her. No real life Mr. Big is ever going to be your prince charming. There are reason girls date their own Mr. Bigs, and there is no stopping it.

1. Women always want what they cannot have. For years, Carrie had relationship after relationship with Mr. Big after he dated other women while dating her. Freaked out about her having a key to his place, he told her he never wanted to get married (even after he married someone else). Women always want what they cannot have, so unavailable guys also spark an interest. When a guy tells you he does not want to be with you, it is like a parent telling their child they cannot have a cookie. All of a sudden, the cookie looks even better than it did before.

2. Women want to be the girl who that guy changed for. Women want to be the exception. They want to be the girl who made the commitment phobe walk down the aisle, the girl who made the player settle down with one girl. It is a huge ego boost women dream of. To be able to say that guy changed it all just to be with me.

3. Women like a jerk. Plain and simple, women love guys who treat them badly. There is no science -- just years of facts proving women do not pick the nice guy. If that were true, Carrie would have ended up with Aiden. Women like bad boys; it makes them feel adventurous and more alive. And what young woman does not love being with a guy everyone else thinks is bad for her. It just makes the whole thing more exciting and challenging.

4. Women like strong, confident (usually) older men. Women want to be with a man. Someone going somewhere in life, who is maybe a little older, someone who can take care of things and their women. Mr. Big was successful and took charge. He knew what he wanted and he got it. That is attractive. Most women want a man who can take charge and is motivated to do something with their life. Even independent women want a man who can be strong and take care of things.

5. Women want someone who can always make them smile. The Mr. Bigs of the world have a lot of flaws, and they are probably not your future husband. However, they sure do know how to make a girl smile. They are fun, they give you silly butterflies, and they know how to make a girl happy -- at least for a little while. You share great times with them and they are great memories you will have, but in the end, that is all they will be.

The Mr. Bigs are there for fun, for a heartbreak everyone has to go through and to be an important part in helping you become who you are. If you do end up with your Mr. Big, remember to not spend too much money on your first wedding so you have enough to pay for the second one.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
