Five Positive Daily Affirmations

Five things I tell myself daily as reminders of my self-worth.

I'm going to be real here for a second: as full of self-love and self-worth as I can be, I still have daily moments of self-doubt. I still struggle with loving myself exactly as I am, instead of loving myself for how I want to be. If you're anything like me, this happens to you too. I figured I'd share the five positive daily affirmations that I give myself, to remind myself of my worthiness and the fact that I deserve to love myself unconditionally. (That last part I'm still working on, to be honest.) Here are my top five affirmations:

My Beauty Is Not Conditional

So what? Someone else doesn't find me as attractive as I would like them to. (Or said person isn't attracted to me at all.) I don't look like my friends that have the hour-glass figure. I'm beautiful just the way I am. After all, my clothing size should never determine my worth.

I Am More Than The Things I've Been Through

Yes, I've experienced trauma on a scale that not everyone else has. But, I am not just a walking advertisement for pain. I am not a walking lesson of "this could happen to you too." I am not the pain that I have dealt with, and my pain is just a fraction of who I am as a person.

My Personality Lights Up A Room

Am I necessarily the "prettiest" girl in the room? No, but that's okay. Being considered "beautiful" by today's standards is a nice thing, but it's not all that can be said about me as a woman. I might not be the prettiest person to enter a room, but I have a unique way of striking up a positive and friendly conversation with complete strangers, and I have a way of making people feel well cared for and loved.

I Am Incredibly Ambitious

I might not be the most popular person to ever walk into a room, but I know for damn sure that I have achieved more in the past year than some people achieve in their lifetimes. I have self-published two poetry books, am currently working on my third and fourth poetry books, have teamed up with a small online retailer to create a merchandise line with one of my quotes, and have made it through my first public speaking event (via my University). That's pretty badass and ambitious, in my opinion.

I Have A Unique Spark That The World Needs To See

This kind of ties along with the fourth affirmation, but my drive to succeed and achieve monumental things in life makes me incredibly unique. I am daring to share my story and my truth with the world, and that spark of uniqueness is something that the world needs to see more of.

So, this is what the list of my top five daily affirmations looks like. I hope my article can inspire whoever reads this to create their own list of affirmations.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
