If your dad is anything like mine, you'll know he loves football, movies, and grilling! Any of these ideas can be modified to match your dad's favorite team or movie or secret recipe!
1. Football String Art-
This is a fun and easy project that your dad is sure to love! All you need is a piece of wood, some wire (really thin) nails, and some string. Just outline your design onto the wood with the pencil, hammer those nails down, and wrap the string around the nails! The best part about this too is that the design can be virtually anything you want and can be done for any dad!
2. Personalized Coffee Mug-
My dad LOVES both Star Wars and coffee and what better way to put them together than in a mug he can use every day?! First, gather your materials: a plain coffee cup, a permanent marker (oil-based Sharpies work best), and an oven. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then draw on your design with the permanent marker. When you're happy with the design, pop that mug in the oven for 30 minutes (you can even let cool and bake again for longer-lasting results). When it comes out, just let it cool off and you're good to go! Make sure to wash this by hand instead of putting it in the dishwasher to keep the beautiful artwork looking like new!3. Mod Podge Photo Cube-
This photo cube is so fun and easy to make! Your dad will love looking at the pictures of you as a little kid when he's at work or at home. Start out by running to your favorite craft store and getting a wooden cube, a bottle of Mod Podge, and a foam brush. First, paint a thick layer of Mod Podge onto the cube. Then put the picture face down (so the ink is touching the Mod Podge) onto the cube. Let that dry overnight. When you wake up in the morning, rub the excess paper off with a wet washcloth, and there you have it! To finish it off and make the pictures more durable, you can put one more thin layer of Mod Podge on top of them as well.
4. Origami Card-
How cute are these origami shirt cards?! If your dad isn't really into the whole "knick knack" type gifts, this is the perfect idea for him. If you know his favorite restaurant or store, you could get him a gift card and tuck it into here! Here is the video for how to make them:
5. Grilling Tools Holder-
This craft from Lil' Luna is a great and inexpensive way to display your dad's most prized grilling tools! Pretty much all you have to do is drill some fancy knobs onto a piece of painted wood. You could even include some new tongs and brushes with your beautiful new display for the ultimate father's day gift!I hope that these ideas gave you some inspiration for what to make your own dad this father's day! Have a safe and happy holiday celebrating the original superheroes in our lives--dad.
