So, here is the deal. We all could use some good comic-awesomeness. Whether that is from the movie universe or the actual pages of the comics, we all have fallen in love with a hero, villain or anti-hero. And with that, many of us have our favorite couple(s). As I am a comic-book lover, I thought it might be fun to share my own comic book couples that I fell in love with over the years.
Each one of these characters held some significance in my heart because of their development, their clashing personalities, or just their interesting love stories. I love these characters for many reasons and I am just sharing a little bit of why I love them over other couples. Without further ado, I present you some of my favorite couples in comic books (or their TV counterparts).
1. Batgirl and Nightwing
I have just recently got into the New 52 with the new Batgirl comics. My friend and I have determined that we both love this couple. They are absolutely perfect (yes, I know there are Starfire and Nightwing lovers) for each other, complementing each other's personalities with both fighting ability and smarts.
2. Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen
They could not save each other from either universe, and yet they are perfect for one another. This is a love story I will defend to the bitter end.
3. Batman and Catwoman
While Talia gave him Damian, only one kitty has his heart always. Talia and Batman have plenty of chemistry, but Catwoman would drop everything to save Batman. No matter what comic or TV show, she will always drop whatever to help him. Talia was a bit too wrapped up in her family honor to truly give herself to Batman.
4. Deadpool and Death
Yes, that Death. From the game to the comics, she has fallen in love with our merc-with-a-mouth. Though they can only be together when he is close to death, they make a wonderfully dysfunctional couple. It is even rumored that Deadpool cannot fully die because Death has fallen for him and thus will never truly want to see him dead for good.
5. Beast Boy and Raven
I was introduced to these two when I first watched "Teen Titans" all that time ago. While there was also support for Tetra, my heart always wanted Beast Boy and Raven. While dynamically different, they cared for each other in ways that were small and significant. Raven would occasionally jump to BB's level of crazy, and he would jump down to her's when she needed someone by her side.
