I don’t know if you are like me, but one of my favorite things I look forward to when on a break from school is cuddling up in bed with a good book. I love to read and one of the downfalls of being a college student is that there is not enough time to get to read a book you want to read for yourself and not one required for class. Give be my bed, a fluffy blanket, a good cup of coffee, and a good book, and I’ll be set for the rest of break. Sometimes thought, picking which books to read is a challenge for those book lovers. Here is a list of the top five books I think will be a great match for you this winter break.
1. "The Fault in Our Stars" By John Green
This is actually my favorite book of all time, so I had to include it on this list.
The book is set in present time Indiana and you follow the life of Hazel Grace Lancaster as she takes on her life as a teenager battling cancer and her new found friend and love interest Augustus Waters.
2. "Maybe Someday" by Colleen Hoover
College student Sydney seems to be enjoying her life in college, working and living with her best friend Tori in a cute little apartment not too far from campus. But everything changes when she finds out that her boyfriend and Tori have been sneaking around behind Sydney’s back and have been sleeping together. Sydney’s life comes crashing down on her. Sydney finds help in turning her life around by the last person Sydney would have thought, her neighbor Ridge, who is completely different than what Sydney was expecting.
3. "Girls in White Dresses" by Jennifer Close
This book tells the story of three young women, Isabella, Mary, and Lauren. They are living in a world where all their friends are getting engaged and moving on with their lives. The three women are forced to go to bridal shower after bridal shower and wear awful pink dresses that they will never wear again. All there friend’s lives seem to be much better than their lives.
4. "Fangirl" by Rainbow Rowell
This book is number one on my list of books to read over the break!
Identical twins Wren and Cath are in their first year of college. They decide that they both want to do their own thing in college. Wren wants to go to parties, meet boys, and live up the college life. While Cath doesn’t have the same idea. She likes to spend her time not in classes writing her fan fiction stories. Cath has to deice if she’s ready to open up to new people and trying new things and even love. This book is about coming of age, trying new things in college, and opening up your heart.
5. "Grace’s Guide: The Art of Pretending to Be a Grown-up" by Grace Helbig
This is a self-help book by Youtuber Grace Helbig. This book is one that every twenty- something should own. It gives great advice for anything and everything one must deal with when growing up and having to deal with what comes alone with adulthood, but she puts a comedic twist to all of her advice.
