Since we are a little bit into the semester, it seems as if more and more of time is needed dedicated to hitting the books instead of treating every week like syllabus week. These are a few places around the city of Manhattan, Kansas that every college student should try studying at to make it a little bit more enjoyable.
1. Hale Library.
Other than the obvious, Hale Library is an amazing place to get focused. It is conveniently located in the center of Kansas State University's campus and has four accessible floors to study on. The second and fourth floors are designated for people to study with others as well as not having to worry about being completely silent. The third floor, otherwise known as the quiet floor, has the infamous "Great Room" that is also called the "Harry Potter Room" because it looks like a room straight out of Hogwarts. There is also computers on every floor, vending machines for snacks and drinks, and my personal favorite Einstein Brother Bagels located on the first floor.
2. Arrow Coffee Company.
Located right off campus at 1800 Claflin Rd #160, Manhattan, KS 66502. This is a quaint coffee shop that is great for studying. Other than exceptional coffee, they provide espresso drinks, soda & tea, as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner options during all operation hours. Make sure to check it out if you haven't because if it is your first visit, your first drink is free!
3. Tuttle Creek.
Not too far from the center of Manhattan, 5800 River Pond Rd is the address of Tuttle Creeks and is about as peaceful as it gets. It houses the dam and has walking trails along with a State Park that is open to the public. On a beautiful day, Tuttle Creek would be the perfect place to study while relaxing and enjoying the outdoors at the same time.
4. Radina's Coffeehouse & Roastery.
There are multiple locations for Radina's in Manhattan, all of which are a prime place to study. 616 N Manhattan Ave is located in Aggieville right next to Chipolte. 2809 Claflin Rd is just west of campus that features outdoor patio seating. Also, right on campus inside the Leadership Studies building at 1370 Mid-Campus Drive. With great coffee and food, Radina's is a place where you can get things done without interruptions.
5. The Great Outdoors.
Sometimes the best places to get focused aren't places, but they could just be your mindset. Even though it may start to get cooler, there are still time to take advantage of the great outdoors. So take advantage of the beautiful weather. Go to a coffee shop with outdoor seating, sit outside, go on campus and throw a blanket on the grass and get yourself focused. If you're in the right setting and mindset, you can focus for hours!
