1. The Twin
This is the friend where you say "oh my god we are literally the same person" (in the most obnoxious stereotypical way possible) at least once a day. There's never any "don't judge me but..." because you probably have the same thoughts on the subject, or have done it yourself. They're the friend you sit with at chapter so that when people have stupid questions, all you have to do is share a look to know that she shares your opinion about a date dash scheduled during midterms.
2. The Ying to your Yang
People say opposites attract, and you two are the perfect example. Somehow, someway, you two ended up as friends despite having very little in common with each other. She balances you out, and when you're together things are just right. You love hanging out, but know that if you ever roomed together that only one of you would make it out alive. Her differences in opinion don't affect your friendship, because you like learning about new perspectives and ideas. She probably introduced you to a new type of music, and you taught her about curling irons. Mixing you two together is like the best of both worlds.
3. The Wise One
This is not to be confused with a "mom friend" who tells you what's wrong with everything you do and judges you. This is the friend who has themselves together, at least when it comes to giving advice. She's been around the block a time or two and knows exactly how to make you feel better, no matter what the problem. She is rational, and tells you that you should stop freaking out that he's not texting you because it's Wednesday night and bio majors have three hour labs on Wednesday. Or that your shoes really don't go with your dress style but the other black will. Every girl needs a friend to be honest, blunt, and supportive.
4. The guy friend
While girl friends are great, it cannot be denied that guys can be pretty great too. Whether it's your boyfriend or a guy that's strictly platonic, dudes offer unparalleled advice and a much different perspective to the world. They'll make you laugh when you ramble about biotin and they ask "wait does that make the hair all over your body grow?!?" and they're your backup for date nights and formals when you just don't want to put in effort. They give you the best guy advice, because they've got the best first hand experience, and you turn to them for help when you can't get a jar open or run out of gas.
5. The Childhood Friend
This girl has been with you through it all. She knows more about you than your mother, your diary, and your boyfriend combined. She knows every embarrassing story, she lived through all of your awkward phases, and you both made it to the other side. When she meets a new boy of yours, she is directly comparing him to everyone from your past and will never let you settle for less than the best. She will probably be your bridesmaid, and your kids will play together just like you did. You can go months without talking if distance separates you, but it changes nothing. When you meet up again there's no awkward small talk, just updates. She knows you better than you know yourself, but you wouldn't have it any other way.
