To my very best friend. You know who you are. We met when we were about five. But the funny part is we didn’t become best friends until about seventh grade. I remember it perfectly. I went to your house before our dance team’s sleepover. We took a bunch of pictures on your jet skis and thought we were the coolest. Pretty much we thought everything we did was the coolest.
We would create these music videos which now I look back at and think, "what the heck were we thinking." We were the ones who just couldn’t wait to grow up… I’d say me a little more than you. But we were always talking about our guy drama at the end of our middle school years till now. We would get hit on by guys at the mall and, oh don’t forget, Great America.
We killed it when it came to our duet in dance. I miss those days and when you stopped competing at our studio we would keep in touch by writing letters to each other. That didn’t end our friendship though, we continued to hang out over breaks and the weekends.
I remember when your parents would yell at you for wearing too much makeup, or that one time I went to church with my 2nd mother. The photo shoots we’d have after a breakup or long hours of Facetime. I would spend weeks with you and your family. We were always doing something. Oh geez, there are so many memories we have created.
I always found it amazing that we were able to maintain our friendship even though we didn’t go to the same school until we entered college. But now you are leaving. I know we will still keep our close friendship. I am so proud of all your accomplishments and I am honored to call you my best friend.
Thank you for always being there for me when I need to vent and randomly checking in. I always enjoy our conversations when you are driving from SD to home and vice versa. I wish I would have spent more time with you while you were in AZ but I know that you leaving won’t affect our friendship.
I am looking forward to what our future has in store for each of us. I hope our paths cross again and we end up settling close enough to where our husbands get to know each other and our children are best friends. But no matter what you will always be my best friend in the whole entire world.
