For many, Fish Camp is a stepping stone to becoming an Aggie. Known as "a freshman's first tradition," Fish Camp is an amazing organization that welcomes and prepares freshman to go through their first year of college and being there to support them every step of the way.

For those who attend Fish Camp, there are those who are content with attending and never going back to camp and Lakeview, but for the rest of us, myself included, we live for the experience and decide to apply as counselors and go back but to lead the next group of freshman.

Last year, I was a proud camper of Session A Green, Camp Littleton. In one word, Littleton (and Fish Camp) left me inspired. I realized the impact that every person had on my transition into college and that my couselors were handpicked because they wanted to comeback and spend a portion of their summer planning and helping ME. They are there loving on these freshman, hoping to provide the best experience they can offer them.

Freshman year is tough. But my counselors made it great. They were ever-loving and there for me when i needed them and that sparked something in me.

Flash forward to second semester. It's January and applications to become a Fish Camp counselor have opened. To give some background, there are roughly and upwards of over 2,000 people who apply to become a Fish Camp counselor. Of those, a little over 1,000 are selected to go back to Lakeview for Fish Camp.

During my application process, I thought back to what drove me to wanting to apply. Compassion. Every single counselor from Camp Littleton gave their heart, soul, and love to helping me grow. And the one thing that they showed me was that I was placed in Camp Littleton to give that same love to the next freshman class.

So, to Camp Littleton, thank you for making me so ever-loved, always being there, and making a lasting impact on me. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to serve as a Fish Camp counselor for 2018 because of the wonderful counselors and co-chairs you were to me. If I can show an ounce of the love you all showed to me, than I know I am doing a small portion of my part. I hope to make an impact like you made on me.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
