Finding Your Affinity

We need a world of passion-driven people rather than people who settle.

Why is it important to find your affinity?

It makes you who you are.

An affinity is when you have a passion or craving for something. Having an affinity makes you who you are.

Think about it for a minute, and write down things you have a passion for. What does your heart desire? Who does your attention gravitate to? Is it something along the lines of going out and adventuring with loved ones and taking amazing photos for a photo album? Does your heart beat for people of all nations overseas? An affinity is something every person has, and it's important that you know what yours is.

Chasing dreams is something most imagine but don't ever think they can achieve. If you can dream it, you can do it with enough passion and drive. Having something that you live for is so much easier to conquer. Sometimes, the things we dream are "far-fetched" or "unrealistic," but take a leap of faith. Go out of your comfort zone. In a lot of situations, the most uncomfortable and awkward situations turn into the most beautiful creations.

If you have an affinity for something, chase it. Make it a part of the rest of your life and live for it. Living for something rather than nothing makes this life so much happier. If you can make your affinity out of a career, do it. You will be so much happier doing something you love for the rest of your life rather than working that nine to five job that you wish you weren't doing.

Having an affinity for something will make you strong. You will be a happier and more confident person if you love the life you're living. It is sometimes scary to go for something when you don't know the outcome, but in the end, you will be happy you tried something rather than saying you wish you tried it.

One thing that is important to remember: You may not have support doing the things you love. If you do, surround yourself with those people. If you don't, doing the thing you love to do will bring people who will support you right to your doorstep. The best part about happiness is nobody can take it from you; it's intangible. Do what you love.

What is a life full of "I wish I did's" rather than a life of "I pursued and I conquered?" Your happiness is what matters in this lifetime. We need a world of passion-driven people rather than people who settle. Could you imagine a life of people so happy because they love the life they live? Could you imagine the love and support we would have for each other?

I will finish with this: Find your affinity. Your passion and love will manifest your happiness. You will be successful in doing what you love because you want to wake up every day and do it. Support others who are different than you, take interest in those who live different lives, and never let anyone bring you down for doing something you love. If your heart beats for it, pursue it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
