Finding Yourself A Godly Man

It's actually quite simple.

Finding Yourself A Godly Man

I hear it all the time, girls talking about wanting to find their "person". It's especially talked about among my Christian circle of friends. I myself as a young woman of God struggle over wanting to find the man God has for me. We talk so much about what we want in a guy, meanwhile we forget the most important thing: before you can look for a godly man, you must first make sure you're a godly woman.

It's like my youth pastor (Chad Luke) said: you attract the people who are like you. You can't expect to attract a man that is after God's heart if you are not a woman chasing after God's will for your life.

Before you can become a godly woman, you must know what a godly woman looks like. First of all, a godly woman is one who has a personal relationship with the Lord. She is constantly seeking out Christ and how to grow closer with him. Proverbs 8:17: I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.

She shows the love of Christ by loving others like He loves. Her love isn't perfect, —she's still human after all—but she keeps in mind the unconditional love of Christ. Her love is not mistaken for fake kindness, but rather makes her easy to confide in and trust. John 15:12: This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

She is modest. She keeps in mind that her body is the temple of Christ, and she treats it with respect. She is aware that her body isn't meant to share with the multitudes, but rather perseveres it. She doesn't cause temptation. She is a safe place for her fellow brothers in Christ, yet she is still beautiful. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

She surrounds herself with Godly people. A good friend of mine (Steven Ayers) often says this: you should surround yourself with people who are already where you want to be. A godly woman will surround herself with wise counsel so she can have fellowship and grow in her walk with Christ. Proverbs 11:14: Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.

Her pride is in Jesus Christ and not herself. She keeps in mind that she is worth nothing without the Lord. She is humble, and makes sure to put Jesus on display rather than herself. Galatians 2:20: I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

and finally...

She will serve God. Christ has a calling on the lives of all Christians. He calls us all to spread the truth of His word, the Gospel. A godly woman will be found sharing the gospel and also serving Christ in some type of ministry, whether it be in the church or a personal ministry, and when she serves, it will be for the Lord, and no one else, not even herself. Colossians 3:23: Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.

Ladies, we must start preparing ourselves for the man we marry one day now: even if you haven't met him yet. When we have found peace with God in our own lives, and when we have become the godly woman Christ wants us to be, only then will we find the man God has set out for us in our lives. If we choose to live the life less than of the godly woman, we will attract the men that are not such godly men. God has set out guidelines for us, it's up to us to decide what choices to make, and what consequences we will accept with those decisions. Don't trade a man after God's own heart for a man of temporary satisfaction. Be patient girls: God will bring him to you in His timing.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
