For Those Who Are Up To Their Eyeballs In Finals

So as I am sure all of us are very well aware, finals are upon us. Take a deep breath, everyone, because we can make it through these next few weeks. Once we do beat those finals (and we will) then we can finally get on with what we all really want, Summer. I am just writing this to help all of you out who are struggling with finals. Take this short bit of writing as a pep talk for your finals and advice on how to go about studying.

First off, don't over-stress yourself about these exams, essays, presentations, or whatever you might have going on. I know some people say they can work better under stress, but for the rest of us it isn't going to do us any good to worry ourselves. Just do the best you can do and try as hard as you can to avoid procrastination. And once you end up procrastinating as most of us are prone to do, close Netflix, buy some caffeine, and hammer out whatever work you need to get done.

Remember these finals are only a week in our lives and will be gone soon. I also suggest having a large stockpile of snacks around for two reasons. First of all, you are going to get hungry if you are one of those people who studies for hours at a time. Second, having food nearby may just prevent that In-N-Out food run that you absolutely need to make before you can even consider working.

Now, let's say you are like me and like to study later at night when you are at risk of falling asleep. What I am about to tell you could be the best advice ever to keep you awake. I know I already said buy caffeine––we're college students and that is our go-to thing in order to stay awake––but I have something better. Buy sunflower seeds, in the shell, and eat those while you study. I was given this advice last year and it is probably the best studying advice I have ever been given. Eating those sunflower seeds will keep you awake better than any caffeine would, and it is healthier.

Then, when the studying is done, go back to not over-stressing yourself. Working on your actual final while stressed is horrid, believe me. We can all kick these finals in the ass and be done. Then go to the beach, a lake, Disneyland, or wherever you want to start your summer and just have fun. Enjoy your summer because you worked hard for it. So, like I said at the beginning, take a deep breath because finals are coming. You can do this. Good luck.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
