Finals are over, which means school is out until January. The thoughts that are running through every college kid's mind is thank God. It's time for me to sink forever into my (parents') couch, Netflix and enjoy my Christmas break.
To a parent this means, my child is home from college! Finally! Let me give them a long list of to-dos, let me lecture you about how you don't come home enough, and sleeping in until 12? Um no, you're in my house, you need to be up by at least 9, and we are going to have something planned for every day that you are home. This might be your vacation, but this is my time to see my child, you better believe that I will make the best of it. Oh you want to stay home and be lazy? No way, you are going to go see every one of your family members that live in the area, and all your little cousins too. Did I mention that you're babysitting your nephew? Yeah, you have that too, it'll be all day. Then you're supposed to go play golf with your dad, he wants to leave at 7:30.
Is it just me or has Christmas break become more hectic than it used to be? After gathering up information, here are the top 10 feelings that a college student probably will experience this Christmas break.
1. Just let me sleep!!
2. Mom, it's Christmas break, you are supposed to be my maid.
3. I forgot how embarrassing my family is...
4. I'm not a child anymore mother, I'm in college now.
That doesn't mean I won't need you still though...
5. Let me do what I want!
6. I'm the visitor, so that means feed me.
7. But I expect real food, not from the microwave.
8. That means dessert too.
9. Why do we have to go places, can I have five more minutes? Or longer...
10. You did not just change the channel.
Although you might think Christmas break is crazy, and not what you expected it to be, when you return back to college you'll be glad you got time to spend with your family before the Spring semester starts.
