It is the greatest month of the year, Women's History Month. So in celebration of dope women in history, let's look at some dope women on screen.

1. Daenerys Targaryen (Game of Thrones)

Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, Mother of Dragons and BAD ASS BITCH!! Go head girl. She has dragons, she is smart, she listens to those around her and she has a heart for people who are oppressed. She wants to change the world, not for her own gain, but for the people that she loves so deeply.

2. Darlene Alderson (Mr. Robot)

Not only is she a hacker, she is helping her mentally unstable brother and trying to keep everything together. She has a fun personality that is accompanied by her dope style. She's smart, she's fun and she's a little terrifying. You da best Darlene.

3. The Scientist Ladies (Annihilation)

They are all smart, but they are all flawed. It is honestly refreshing to see women who seem like they have it together on the outside, yet they have battles on the inside. The complexity allotted to each character helps us as the viewer connect to women that we would otherwise think was out of our league. Beautiful film, badass ladies.

4. Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

I mean... she fought Vampires. Besides that, she's a "normal" teenage girl, whose friends with a gay woman and saves her male friend on several occasions. Intersectional as hell.

5. Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games)

She beat The Hunger Games not once, but twice. She kickstarted a revolution and took down an evil government that suppressed its people. Katniss is a strong, yet broken character that shows young girls that battling with a mental health issue does not make you less of a fighter. In fact, you can use those experiences to inspire change.

6. Black Panther Ladies (Black Panther)

I couldn't pick just one. Nakia, Shuri, Okoye and the Dora Milaje. They're all dope and strong as hell. Nakia wants to leave her, admittedly, privileged and comfortable life to help people who are in need. Shuri is a brilliant scientist who likes to keep her brother, the king, humble.

Okoye could kick your ass and would willingly kick her boyfriend's ass for what she believes in. The Dora Milaje are woman soldiers tasked with the job of protecting their king. That is so much pressure! All amazing, all dope, all deserving.

7. Diana Prince (Wonder Woman)

She's a literal God. And she made the DCEU better. Argument done.

8. Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)

Harry and Ron would have been dead their first year if it wasn't for Hermione. She's smarter than everyone, she's driven to make the world a better place and she does not shy away from obstacles. She is the best character in the HP series. Also, she punched Malfoy soooo......

9. Elle Woods (Legally Blond)

Sure her first motivation to go to law school was to follow a boy, but she eventually found out that she was great at this law thing. She exonerated an innocent client with her beauty know how. She invented the bend and snap. She did not allow slut shaming in her presence. She is a feminist icon.

10. Jessica Jones (Jessica Jones)

Another broken, yet inspiring woman. Dealing with the Post Traumatic Stress at the hands of her rapist, Kilgrave, Jones is thrown into trying to fight the man who has caused her so much pain. Especially in this Me Too movement, Jessica's bravery in facing someone who has caused her so much pain is inspiring to so many survivors. Plus she can break things with her fist so like, that's cool too.

11. Leslie Knope (Parks and Rec)

Leslie is kind, passionate and encouraging. When she has a goal she stops at nothing to achieve it. She is not a dark, brooding character. She is the character for women who have not been faced with a lot of hardships but is there for her friends that have. She is unafraid to share her emotions and she has had some funny moments as well.

12. Tasha "Taystee" Jefferson (Orange is the New Black)

Not only is she well read, she started a standoff with the prisoners and the prison guards. Sure it did not go super well, but at least she used her voice to bring awareness to a real issue in our penal system.

13. Abbi and Ilana (Broad City)

Man, these ladies are a fun time. They love each other and constantly encourage one another. We all need friends like that, Abbi and Illana sure aren't perfect, but they give ladies a good example of what a good friendship looks like.

14. Cece (New Girl)

Cece is the calm in the storm that is the loft. She managed to take the biggest party boy in that loft and turn him into an upstanding baby daddy. She's always there for Jess with some sage advice and she has a cute friendship with Winston, who is the best character in that show.

15. Maeve Millay (Westworld)

Homegirl is a businesswoman. She cares for her girls, looks out for herself and outsmarted the amusement park. Here's to season 2 and to seeing what happens to our dear Maeve.

Who run the world? These girls.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
