Hey you, yes you. I see you over there. Studying away in the library, freaking out at the amount of work you still need to get done within the last few weeks before the semester ends. Those last few tests, assignments, projects and papers are not what you really want to be given right as the weather is getting nicer, and you wish you could spend your afternoons and weekends outside with friends. Day parties are becoming more common, but of course you can't go because you have three tests next week, two papers due and a huge project you have not even started.
But listen here, don't freak. Trust me it isn't worth it. I feel like these last few weeks of school, even though they may be stressful, they are really beneficial and helpful for our grades. Maybe you were one of those people like myself who slacked off in the beginning of the semester, and now is your chance to boost your grades up with these big assignments. I feel like teachers honestly are doing this to students for many reasons, including boosting your grade. They are making sure you paid attention in class and deserve the grade you receive. Yes you can say they suck and you hate them, but in reality, they are the ones you are going to have to suck up to in order to receive that borderline grade you are wishing and dreaming of.
So think positively when studying for those tests, work hard and edit those papers over and over again, and make sure those projects are worth turning in and not just a hot, jumbled mess. You will thank me later for your grades. And for all you girls who are realizing how busy your sorority is making you these last few months with things like Mom's Day, Formal, Philanthropies, Date Nights and more, there is always a way to balance. Maybe you don't go to that date night with that one boy, because honestly, you're going to end up doing something you regret once that fifth of vodka is finished. Instead, stay in and do a study guide or catch up on some reading. Or maybe that one philanthropy you don't necessarily have to go to, don't go. Do something good for yourself instead and catch up with your friends later. There is always time to socialize before chapter the next week.
So take my advice — trust me when I say to not blow off these last few weeks and take the time to make them count both academically and socially. Before you know it, you will be moving out for summer and saying goodbye to your friends whom you may not see for a month or two. Oh, and be sure to make the summer count as well, because sooner than later you will be right back in the classroom.
