I love "The Bachelor/Bachelorette," but sometimes I have some serious questions about the show. It kind of scares me how fast they fall in love and it breaks my heart how hurt the contestants get. On the bright side, though, there is the possibility of finding real true love, and that's got to be worth it.
At the end of the day, the show is always entertaining and worthy of my full attention (please only talk to me during commercials -- I need to hear what they are saying). However, I would appreciate it if a few logistical questions were answered for me so I don't have to spend any more of my time wondering these things.
1. How does the Bachelor/Bachelorette do it?
I rely so much on my friends and family when making decisions. They don't tell me what to do, but are always there to listen to me work through tough situations. So when they leave after the cocktail party to go “think things over” because they have “some really tough decisions to make,” are they allowed to call their mom? I just don't understand how you could be confident in your choices if you haven't gone over all of your options with at least your own mother!
2. What do the guys/girls do when they get kicked off the show?
How are you to know how long you should take off work? It would stink if you took 11 weeks off and then got sent home on the first day! On the other hand, it's pretty obvious to your family and friends how far you got on the show, especially if you win! Are you expected to pull a Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana and just hope no one spills the beans before the finale airs? What if you lose? Are you not allowed to share your heartbreak with your loved ones? Or are you only allowed to sit in your apartment alone and wallow for 11 weeks until the finale shows the world that you were dumped and then lets you publicly grieve?
3. Can you be average looking (but have a great personality) and still be on the show (asking for a friend)?
Honestly, every contestant is a 10/10 on looks and has a good personality too. If these people are having a rough time finding their soulmate, how is it possible that the rest of us do?
4. Is there a trick to pinning the rose on the guys?
Every rose ceremony takes me back to high school homecoming where putting the boutonniere on my date was a five-minute process and it still ended up being lopsided. How does JoJo do it so effortlessly?
So, if anyone has any answers for these questions, that would be great if you could share them! I know a lot of us are dying to have the inside scoop on how this show works.
