Festive Drinks You Will "Fall" In Love With

Fall is one of the most beautiful times of the year at The University of the South. The trees shine with the colors of orange, red, and yellow, and students are often tempted to make "leaf angel" out of the fallen leaves. Whether you're a Stirling's fan, have a Keurig, or just want to create a drink from scratch, here are some autumn beverages that will surely comfort your tastebuds!

Make a warm apple cider

For a simple, mouth-watering apple cider, all you'll need is: a bottle of apple cider, 3 cinnamon sticks, allspice, cloves, and some brown sugar. All of these ingredients create a simple cider, courtesy of allrecipes.com. First, add the cinnamon sticks to the apple cider in a slow cooker. Wrap up the allspice and cloves in some cheesecloth and place the cloth into the pot. Boil over high heat, then reduce the heat, so the cider is warm and ready to be served to your friends. *Note: a cheesecloth is just a loosely woven cloth made of cotton that can wrap cheese.

A cranberry orange cocktail

There's nothing a fruity drink on a fall evening can't fix. Head on over to The Piggly Wiggly to get some fresh cranberries, oranges, sugar, ginger peels, and sparkling water (preferably, San Pellegrino or La Croix). Squeeze some juice out of the oranges and combine this orange juice with the cranberries, sugar, and ginger. Now, bring this mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once the cranberries pop, smash them against the sides of the pan to splash their flavor around the juice. Remove the juice from the pan to cool. Strain the cranberry mixture, and throw away the left-over solid pieces. Now chill the juice in a pitcher and stir in your desired amount of sparkling water. Enjoy your fancy drink with an orange wedge, or throw some cranberries in it for a nice touch. (Courtesy of OhMyVeggies.com)

Warm your soul with a hot chai tea

Make a good use out of your left-over milk in the fridge with this special treat. Follow the RealSimple recipe, and put some cardamon seeds, cloves, and peppercorn in a Ziploc bag, and smash the mix with a skillet. Put the spices in a saucepan, along with two cinnamon sticks, fresh ginger, two cups of whole milk, and two cups of water. Boil the mix, remove the heat, and then you throw in four black tea bags. Steep the tea for ten minutes, then strain it into individual cups. Add sugar to taste, and enjoy your tea with a cozy sweater and mittens. Don't forget you can always freeze your chai tea in an ice cube tray to add flavor to an iced coffee on a cooler day.

Go ahead and store some spices, milk, and fresh fruit to make these fall treats on any day. You will love to sip on one of these beverages for a study break, and you will love sharing the recipes with your friends even more. Cheers!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
