Screw feminism. Really. We've twisted and turned it into this "in your face," aggressive, superiority movement. It's caused men to be confused about their role and how they should treat us, but even worse, it's created a separation between women.
Some live and die by feminism and everything it's become today, while some have turned away and refuse to associate with the word.
This division between women should be something that's talked about. It's a result of the strong and constant feminist movement, yet it's not something to be proud of as a population of women.
So screw feminism, let's bring back sisterhood.
Or whatever you want to call it - an empire of womanhood, girlfriends, sisters, etc. Let's start a movement where women look to other women for encouragement, inspiration, and support. We all lean on each other. Let's close the gap between women.
At the end of the day, we're the only ones that know and understand the struggles and triumphs of womanhood - so why the need for a strong, intense, aggressive movement like the feminist movement we see today? If it's turning women away from embracing their femininity, why don't we change anything? If it's causing a division between women all over - why don't we acknowledge it?
Girls, it starts with us.
It's simple. Reach out to girls who look lonely. Seek companionship in women all over, near and far. See what blossoms, and what was only meant to last temporarily. Compliment the stranger who's awesome style you've been admiring for the past 10 seconds. Write a little sticky note of encouragement to your roommate just to remind her you're proud of her.
It's the little things, it always has been. One compliment passed, encourages another. It's a chain reaction.
Let's embrace our femininity in its entirety. That means appreciating each woman for who they are and what they have to offer; gracefully, respectfully, genuinely, and kindly.
