It's easy to love Summer.
Summer means no more school for some people, summer means relaxation or a nice vacation.
Summer marks the end of the year in a sense, for when fall comes it will be a new start.
It's time to put away the shorts and tank-tops and tuck away the bathing suits.
Fall is the start of a new school year, maybe a new job.
Like the leaves change, fall symbolizes the opportunity for a fresh new coat.
While you were used to the smells of freshly sprayed sunscreen, sipping on some cold iced tea, and enjoying the nice cold pool on a hot summers day, now you have pumpkins.
Not just a pumpkin, but pumpkin lattes, pumpkin bread, pumpkin butter, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin tea, pumpkin pie, pumpkin pancakes, and some pumpkin soup.
Then there are the colorful leaves, the warm knit sweaters, the cold air giving you rosy red cheeks, the gentle breeze, and smells of cinnamon and spice.
We love to love Fall because Fall is beautiful and it's amazing.
But Fall is also the end of a sometimes glorious summer, it means going back to school, or going back to work, and it can be sad.
Fall means change.
All the bright colors are faded away,
all the leaves fall off, and the beautiful flowers die.
Whatever happened during summer is over now, and you have to go back home.
But that is the best part.
For though the bright colors fade, they get a beautiful fresh coat.
Flowers are replaced with beautiful pumpkin patches and fall leaves.
Fall is a time of change, a time to be thankful, a time to be a kid again, and a time for family.
After being apart for the summer, or away on vacation, we return to put up spooky decorations and go shopping for fun costumes.
We make arrangements for Thanksgiving dinner and begin calling family members and making plans.
Whatever happened in your summer, whether it was good, or bad, fall means you can start over, and come home.
Put on a cozy sweater, drink a pumpkin spice latte, and cuddle up with your family.
Visit a pumpkin patch with friends, collect leaves with your kids.
Start off fresh, begin again and make this year better.
While all the leaves are falling around you, remember to fall in love with Fall, not just the season, but the change, to make the year whatever you want it to be.
I fell in love with fall, not just for its aesthetic, or sweet treats.
But for me, for my new start, and for your new start, for our families, and our loved ones.
For the new seasons, and the holidays to come.
There are only a couple months left of this year, so make each second count, and embrace the change.
