Feeling Dumb In College, Told By Penny From 'The Big Bang Theory'

In high school, you were class president, captain of the soccer team, and an esteemed member of the National Honors Society and the Beta Club. Between balancing a part time-job, a successful social life and four AP classes, you conquered high school without a hitch—making you feel more than prepared for what came next: college. But when you arrived, you suddenly realized that not only was everyone else just as qualified as you to be there, you were also surrounded by peers immensely smarter than you. Between exams, term papers, and professors who don't offer extra credit no matter how much you suck up to them, you were immediately forced to realize that college is hard.Like really, really hard. Much like yourself, Penny, from the awkwardly hilarious show "The Big Bang Theory," is constantly immersed in a life far above her mental capacity; nevertheless, Penny remains a role model for us all as she has successfully figured out how overcome feeling dumb all the damn time.

You have the opportunity to fill your days with suspenseful mystery.

When having a conversation with those fabulous people who simply talk to hear themselves talk, just smile and nod—no response is really necessary.

Talking is tricky. People use big words and sometimes, you just can't keep up. Alcohol will never confuse you—well, not until the morning after that is.

Your life is a constant state of bafflement

And being surrounded by super motivated, go-getting overachievers all the time tends to bring down one's self confidence

But there is always this to fall back on

Over the years you have really learned how to truly embrace some of your own distinguishing qualities. So what if intellectualism is not one of them? Work it, girl.

i mean, you do have extensive knowledge about street smarts, so that's something

And one day, you may meet a kind, sweet physicist—and though you may not understand a word he says, it could be love

Group projects are your favorite because you get to share knowledge (and a grade), but they also put on display how little you have to contribute in comparison to your group members.

Okay, so you may not know everything all the time, but that's what keeps it all intersting. You do you, and eventually the rest will follow.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
