February: Not Just A Month For Crying About Your Love Life

Everyone assumes that the only thing to celebrate in February is Valentine's day, which half of us (AKA us single people) hate. However, you are all mistaken if that is what you assume. There are so many more wonderful and great days in February, so every day can be a party. When February 14th comes around you won't be sad or mad that you're single, depressed, and lonely (that's just me? OK cool), instead you can look forward to the rest of the month for more exciting and less exclusive holidays. Let's start it off with February 1st...

February 1st: National Freedom Day

A wonderful and important day to celebrate the freedom from slavery. Hats off to you Abe (ha, get it? 'Cause he wore a big hat.)

February 2nd: National Groundhog Day

So winter is based on if a groundhog sees his shadow or not? Makes sense...

February 3rd: National Carrot Cake Day

February 4th: National Thank a Mailman Day

You could just write them a letter...haha.

February 5th: National Shower with a Friend Day

Maybe we should skip this day...

February 8th: National Boy Scouts Day

My best friends are Boy Scouts, so I can attest to this meme being pretty accurate.

Jokes aside, Boy Scouts are wonderful and I love them all. And who doesn't like a guy in a uniform, am I right ladies?

February 9th: MARDI GRAS

The best day of the year just so happens to land in February this year. A time for festivities, family, fun, and A LOT of good food. PSA: New Orleanians do not like you flashing your bodies. This is a misconception, yet tourists still do it...

February 11th: National Make a New Friend Day AND National Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk Day

February 12th: Abraham Lincoln's Birthday

February 14th: National Organ Donor Day...oh and Valentine's Day

I bet the most donated organ is a heart because this is the day that they break.

February 15th: Singles Awareness Day

Yeah OK, we get it, we're single.

February 16th: *Not National Half-Priced Candy Day*

February 17th: National Random Acts of Kindness Day

This should be every day, people!

February 18th: National Drink Wine Day

A great day to celebrate.

February 22nd: National Margarita Day

Another great day to celebrate.

February 24th: National Tortilla Chip Day

Psst... Mom, this holiday was made for you

February 26th: National Tell a Fairy Tale Day

February 27th: National Polar Bear Day

February 28th: National Public Sleeping Day and National Tooth Fairy Day

February 29th: LEAP DAY

It comes every four years which includes the fabulous year of 2016!

Happy Birthday to the kids who were born in 1996, you are now 5.

That's all the holidays for now, I hope you all celebrate them all and celebrate them proudly. What's Valentine's Day again?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
