This weekend I have watched the movie Thor, both the first and second ones. In the past, I wasn't a fan of Thor because I really didn't know the story about Thor and Loki. I never really had a favorite villain because I like heroes the best. But I have a love-hate relationship with Loki. I think he can be a good guy in some cases but most people see him as a bad guy. I mostly feel bad for Loki because of his past and because his father didn't tell him what he really was.
By watching the first movie, I liked Loki the best because I thought Thor was arrogant and wanted to fight all the time. I thought Loki was the more sensible brother. When Thor figured out the Frost Giants entered Asgard he wanted to kill them off. Loki on the other hand wasn't sure that was a good idea. In the movie when they were battling the Frost Giants, Loki turned blue and then back again, he also has the power of illusions. When he gets back to Asgard, he looks at the power casket, he asks his father if he's really his son. His father tells him the truth, that he was really a Frost Giant baby and he rescued him. I felt bad for Loki, because all his life he was lied to and he didn't know the truth.
But sometimes I think he can be a big jerk because of his actions. When Thor gets casted out of Asgard, Loki takes over Asgard when his father falls into a coma and pretends to be the good guy. He then goes to Earth to tell Thor his father is dead and he can never come back to Asgard, that's when he starts his plan to destroy the ice planet. He deceives his mother, father, Thor, and the people of Asgard. When Thor gets back to Asgard he tries to stop Loki by breaking the bridge. Loki admits defeat, falls and disappears with no return.
In the second movie, Loki is arrested and put in prison for his actions on Earth. He is confined to a cage and only gets one visitor which is his mother. It makes you feel bad for him because he's all alone. But he also deserved it because he tried to enslave Earth and be their king, which isn't good either. His mother was the only person who visited him or still really cared about him. When she dies later in the movie, when Thor goes to visit him, he looks like it didn't bother him that his mother died. But when the illusion fades he is sad and depressed. Thor needs his help to get the evil out of Jane and to stop the Dark Elves. He needs Loki's help to do this, and he agrees to it. But if he goes against Thor he will kill Loki.
In the scene where they're fighting the Dark Elves, it looks like Loki betrayed Thor but as you continue to watch, it's really all an illusion. When the Dark Elf has the power he wanted he leaves and lets his minions battle Thor and Loki. Loki saves Jane from the Bad Elf and almost goes into another realm but Thor saves him. When Thor was in trouble Loki risks his life to save Thor's. He dies in the end by being stabbed, or so we thought. At the end of the movie, Thor tells his father, he doesn't want to be King and his father accepts his wish. When Thor leaves, his father turns into Loki, which was all an illusion.
In both movies there are some places when Loki is a good guy, but there are also times when he is a bad guy. I'm not really sure what his motives are or if he really is a good or b bad guy. He's a hard person to figure out, because he has several moments when he has a change of heart and wants to help but then there are moments when he wants to take over the world. He's a very difficult person to figure out, but that's also why he's my favorite villain. I hope there's a third Thor because I want to know what Loki's plan was by pretending to die and being Thor's father. He is a very difficult character but he keeps you guessing for more!
