What Your Favorite URI Social Scene Says About the Way You Party

Party hard, we do.

With the Spring 2017 semester coming to an end, it's time to reflect on all of the regretful decisions we've made at some of our favorite places. Here is what your favorite URI party scene says about you:

Darties

You're down to go out at any time of the day. You're most likely the best rally-er of the friend group, and you get PUMPED when you see that it's going to be nice weather on a Saturday. Elevated surfaces are your thing, and we'll most likely see you out later on that night, too. You know how to handle your alcohol, but can still drink anyone under the table.

Formals

You're classy AF. You do the majority of the things you do for the insta, and don't care who knows it. Wearing heels is the least of your worries, because you love getting dressed up and understand that beauty is pain. When someone needs something nice to wear, they come to your closet first. Formals only come around a few times a year, but we're sure to see you thriving as if you do this every night.

Bonvue

They call it Bonzoo for people like you. You're the life of the party, and thrive when dancing to any genre of music. You love to go out and see EVERYONE you've known since starting at URI: your RA, freshman year roommate, and the guy that screwed you over will definitely be in attendance. You're most likely an upperclassmen, one reason being because it's near to impossible to get in if you're underage, and two being you know better than to schedule your classes for Fridays.

Charlie O's

You don't mind laying low. You'd much rather have a nice conversation with someone as opposed to being in a dark room, dancing. You most likely love to listen to throwbacks (tell me the last time you didn't hear "Sweet Caroline" or "Come On Eileen" at Chucks), and have no problem belting out alllll of the words. We could most likely catch you with a pitcher of sangria in hand. You may or may not have gotten emotional when they announced that they were knocking down that wall and making the middle section bigger. There's a chance you're on a first name basis with at least one bouncer or bartender here, too.

Frat Parties

You love to hang out with your core group of friends, but have no problem socializing. "All Night Longer" by Sammy Adams is your anthem, hence why you're thriving every time it comes on (sometimes multiple times a night). You're definitely not picky with what type of booze you drink, and have probably considered that you might actually miss jungle juice post-grad. You don't mind going out and sweating like crazy (you learned that lesson early freshman year after wearing long sleeves and jeans to your first frat party) and you're probably really good at talking to boys.

Ocean Mist

You love to be the center of attention. If you're not dancing on the O-Mist stage within the first ten minutes of getting there, you feel like you're letting yourself down. Dancing is not a problem for you, and you love to meet all of the South County locals. If O-Mist is your favorite social scene, you've probably been to their brunch and it's probably changed your life for the better (Coffee with Love, am I right?!) You love the beach, and appreciate the views from the O-Mist deck like no other.

Party on, Rams!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
