What Your Favorite Thanksgiving Food Says About You

Thanksgiving is here at last. We may overlook this ballin' holiday because of our tendencies to get too excited about Christmas, but fear not Thanksgiving, we still love you just the same. The Thursday we get to gather around the dining room table with friends and family to eat as much as possible, followed by football and a nap is easily one of the best days of the year. It's hard to choose just one dish to dub your favorite when there are so many delicious choices covering the kitchen counters, but if you really had to choose, you know deep in your heart- or your stomach- that there is one dish you give just a bit more space on your plate. Here's what that dish says about you:

Turkey

You value tradition and simplicity, and you cater to necessities more than frivolous desires. You are also relatively put together and look at the bigger picture (aka the main dish). Yeah, turkey is a predictable dish at Thanksgiving, but the show couldn't go on without it. A true classic - just like you.

Stuffing

You came to the meal looking to get stuffed, literally. You're one to listen more than speak around the table and in life. You also aren't too picky, you don't mind if all of your food touches and people's eating habits don't tend to bother you. You're easy going and maintain a pretty good mood no matter the situation.

Cranberry Sauce

You like the idea of fancy things. You probably enjoy those ultra plush throw blankets, and keeping your priorities straight. Even though you like the finer things in life, you still love a good challenge. You're into trying things that take you outside of your comfort zone, and you're looking to spice things up and get out of the mundane tendencies of your daily schedule.

Casserole

You don't play games; you stick to your word and your plans. You offer good advice in every situation and enjoy spending time with people and making sure everyone is satisfied. You're an all around great person, with a lot to offer (and probably one of the favorite family members).

Mac and Cheese

It's very likely that you go back for seconds (just for the love of mac and cheese) and you probably tell ~cheesy~ jokes. Not too many people appreciate a classic joke, but you do. You look to have fun in every situation and love getting to hang out with your family all day. You can probably be found coloring at the kid's table before dinner, but who are those grown-ups to judge you (even though you're like 20 years old, but who's counting).

Pumpkin Pie

You love indulging in things. "Treat yo self" is an everyday moto for you. You like the idea of a diet, but you know it's more important to live life the way you want to, instead of depriving yourself of your favorite things. It's also likely that if you last long enough to get dessert in before a nap, that you're in the kitchen helping clean up at the end of the meal. You're sweet as pie.

Wine

You more than likely brought your own bottle to dinner, and no one is surprised. You love talking to everyone- even if they aren't your favorite person. You appreciate a good surprise and love getting all the juicy details on the family drama. You're looking to have a good time no matter where you are and want everyone else to do the same.

You may have a favorite, but one dish doesn't define you. The good thing about Thanksgiving is that all the foods are piled on your plate, so you could embody the characteristics of the food- just maybe some more than others.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
