Turkey Day: also known as the day that everyone puts on their extra stretchy pants and prepares themselves to consume more food in one sitting than they do all year. All day we wait as delicious smells taunt us from the kitchen. There are so many dish options on the table, so your grandma won't yell at you if you skip the green beans. Well, she'll probably still say something, but you're too busy stuffing your face with your favorite dish to care.
The dish that you're scarfing down says more about you than you may realize. After some extensive analysis and inward seeking, I've discovered what your favorite dish really says about you.
Mashed Potatoes
My personal favorite. This dish states that carbohydrates are a way of life. You load your plate with delicious mounds of potatoes because it doesn't matter if they're garlic mashed potatoes, if they still have skin on them, or if they're just classic and fluffy, you simply can't go wrong with mashed potatoes.
Cranberry Sauce
If this dish is your favorite then you most likely have the heart of an 85-year-old woman. It is such a strange thing that only someone with dentures could enjoy. You're old at heart and don't care many people don't enjoy cranberry sauce, because that just means there's more for you.
Green Beans
Straight from the earth and tossed on the stove. So simple, yet so sophisticated. You probably enjoy kale too. You're that earthy type possibly even vegetarian; this is one of the few Thanksgiving dishes you can eat.
Stuffing
Stuffing is one of those things that only makes sense to eat on Thanksgiving, so you've definitely waited all year for this. You're dedicated and passionate about stuffing. You probably have a favorite type or recipe that only your grandma knows. Of all Thanksgiving dishes this is the most classic, therefore you are too.
Pumpkin Pie
Who cares about the main course?! You would much rather skip straight to dessert and devour the pumpkin pie. You were obsessed with pumpkin before it became a basic white girl thing. So does that make you a pumpkin pie hipster...?
Turkey
All other dishes aside this is the most important. What is Thanksgiving without a turkey? You don't mess around with the other dishes you get straight to the meat. You're straightforward and know what you want. The greatest thing about turkey is there are leftovers for weeks so you get to eat your favorite for as long as you'd like. You smart cookie, you.
On Thanksgiving be sure to be thankful for each person and their favorite dish because we all bring something unique to the table.
