I'm sure we can all agree that Disneyland has some of the best foods on the planet. After spending many a day at the parks I have decided to put together a list of my favorite foods for you to try!
1. The Monte Cristo Sandwich

What is it: Heaven, pure and powdered-sugar covered heaven. All joking aside, this is turkey, ham and Swiss cheese inside of a fried batter and topped with powdered sugar. The sandwich comes with fruit and a couple of fruit flavored dipping sauces, like blackberry and raspberry. It is an amazing combination.
2. The Chocolate Chip Cookie Hot Fudge Sundae

What is it: Two Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream topped with Hot Fudge, Two Chocolate Chip Cookies, Whipped Cream, and a Cherry. You can always change out the flavors if you like or put it in a waffle cup for an additional charge. On this particular sundae, I chose to get Cookie Dough ice cream and I added some sprinkles (these are an extra charge as well).
3. The Mickey-Shaped Beignet

What is it: A doughnut-like pastry covered in Powdered Sugar. It is a fluffy sweet treat, a pack of three is perfect for three guests. Just don't eat while wearing nice clothes, because trust me you will be wearing the sugar for days.
4. The Turkey Leg
Where to find it: At designated food carts in every land. This particular Turkey leg came from the cart at the end of Main Street U.S.A.
What is it: Pretty self-explanatory. It is a turkey leg. This flavor-filled slab of meat is probably one of the most filling meals in the park. It comes from the vending carts along with the chimichanga and corn on the cob. Make sure to bring a friend though. As delicious as it is, there is a lot of it and it gets pretty tedious to eat after a while.
5. Clam Chowder Bowl

What is it: Rich, creamy Clam Chowder in a Sourdough Bread Bowl. This is one of my favorite meals in the parks. There is another variant of this bowl in Disney's California Adventure at the Pacific Wharf. It is a different chowder recipe and I prefer the New Orleans style to the one at Pacific Wharf (even though it is equally good and deserves an honorable mention).
6. Nachos
Where to find it: Taqueria at Tortilla Jo's in Downtown Disney
What is it: Nachos with a twist. You can get a number of toppings on the bed of tortilla chips. It is heavenly. This is a restaurant that mimics the style of Chipotle and Subway. It is one of my favorite places to eat in Downtown Disney.
7. Trio of Street Tacos

What is it: Trio of tacos with your choice of meat (these are steak) topped with onions and cilantro, rice, and re fried beans. These are delicious, however these are a little different than the menu; because I am a plain Jane, I asked for the tacos to only be topped with cheese. This is one of the only places in the park where you can refill your drink as well!
8. Mac and Cheese Hot Dog
Where to find it: Refreshment Corner hosted by Coca-Cola on Main Street U.S.A.
What is it: An all-beef 9" hot dog topped with macaroni and cheese and bacon bits. The hot dog comes with your choice of Lays potato chips or apple slices. This hot dog is amazing and the bun melts in your mouth. Also honorable mentions from this location include both the Cream Cheese-Filled (pictured above) and Jalapeno Cheese-Filled Pretzels. The Jalapeno pretzel is best served with a cup of Nacho Cheese Dipping Sauce. Don't forget to try the Cherry Coke while you are here, it is to die for.
9. Count-Down Chicken Fusilli
Where to find it: Redd Rockett's Pizza Port in Tommorowland
What is it: A creamy pasta with chicken and basil. Served next to Space Mountain, this pasta is out of this world. Pizza Port also serves pizza, bread sticks, salads, and a variety of treats and fountain drinks. It is a perfect and affordable stop with something for everybody.
10. The Dole Whip

What is it: These are heaven. Pure, tart, pineapple heaven. These treats are a perfect refreshing treat if you can brave the heat and the long line. They also serve a float, which is the soft serve inside of pineapple juice. Make sure you try these, even if you don't like pineapple. I hate pineapple and this ice cream is heaven. It is also a good vegan option in Disneyland and is only 90 calories.
11. Chicken Breast Nuggets

What is it: These chicken nuggets are served with fries or zesty coleslaw. Located next to Soarin' Around the World, it is a tasty meal after waiting in that long line. The chicken is tender and breaded with flour and delicious spices. Goes well with Ranch served at their toppings bar. Their milkshakes are also to die for.
12. Mac and Cheese Bread Bowl
Where to find it: Pacific Wharf Cafe at Paradise Pier
What is it: Creamy Mac and Cheese served a fresh bread bowl. All bread bowls at Disney are made onsite and distributed to the various locations. In this case the bread is made at this restaurant. This bread bowl is part of their secret menu, they also serve a variety of soups. An honorable mention at this location is the Turkey Pesto Sandwhich (not pictured).
13. Turkey Dip Sandwich
Where to find it: Flo's V8 Cafe in Cars Land
What is it: Turkey and swiss sandwich served on a potato roll. Served with au jui sauce, pasta salad, and a dill pickle slice. It is a tasty sandwich with juicy turkey meat. The location also serves a variety of delicious shakes to try, complete with road gravel (oreo cookie crumbs). Pictured above is the Dinoco Blue Shake, a sweet blue raspberry shake which is a part of their secret menu.
14. Cheddar Broccoli Soup

What is it: Yes, I know what you are thinking, yet another bread bowl, but hey, bread is life. This location also serves a variety of soups, but the Cheddar Broccoli is my favorite. It is creamy and cheesy. The consistency is wonderful, and the flavor is rich. The seating area is also located near Splash Mountain, so you get to enjoy the screams of the people on the ride.
So there you have it! Some of my favorite foods at the Disneyland Resort! I hope I have made you hungry! Let me know which ones you have tried, and which ones you are going to try!
