Over the years I'd say my taste in fashion has definitely changed many, many, many times. In middle school, I wanted nothing more but to wear graphic t-shirts, skinny jeans, and black clothing literally 24/7, and in high school, I simply had no fashion identity. I didn't have the greatest taste in fashion, I'll admit, but eventually, after years of scrolling through Pinterest, watching movies and TV shows, and flipping through the pages of fashion magazines like Vogue, I was able to figure out what fashion looked like to me.
Audrey Hepburn
She's beauty, she's grace, she's Audrey Hepburn. Literally the most iconic person not just in terms of fashion but as an actress as well. Growing up I watched all her movies (Roman Holiday was hands down the best) and collected whatever merchandise of hers I could find. She became my all-time favorite actress and one of my favorite fashion icons. With her effortless elegance in movies like My Fair Lady and Sabrina, to her memorably glamorous looks in Breakfast at Tiffany's, and even her everyday trouser or sinched waist, flared skirt looks, she never missed a mark.
Winona Ryder
If I could just be Winona Ryder, I would be a happy woman. Miss Winona Ryder has been in countless iconic shows and movies and has continued to be one of the most fashionable people on Earth. The staple seen in many of her 90s looks: black clothing pieces. Black leather jacket? She's got it. Black cardigan? Also has it. Black dress? Yes, and she looks amazing in it. Her timeless grunge fashion sense has remained a popular fashion trend even up to now. Will it ever go out of fashion? I say no but even if society moves past the grunge trend, you'll still catch me wearing my mom jeans, black belt, black jacket, and black booties fit.
Cindy Crawford
One of the most well-known models of the century, Cindy Crawford has dropped jaws on runways, magazine covers, commercials, and even movies and TV shows. One of my favorite looks of hers: the black bandage Hervé Léger dress she wore for a 1998 Vogue anniversary party. Another favorite: her navy suit and matching loafer outfit she wore to the Los Angeles Airport in 1992. I could honestly go on and on and list about 10 more of my favorite outfits of hers but to keep it short and sweet, she always knew what to wear.
Zendaya
Zendaya is my complete inspiration when it comes to a glamorous look. Every single red carpet look of hers is beautiful beyond words. Can we just talk about the 2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party gown? If you haven't seen it, go ahead and search it up and take a look, really soak it in. If I could live in that dress, I would. The Oscars 2018, Met Gala 2017, and the Met Gala 2018. Zendaya has claimed her spot as a fashion icon and I refuse to believe otherwise.
Alexa Demie
The literal definition of alluring is Alexa Demie. Like many people, I first found her through the TV show Euphoria which led to a stalking spree on Instagram, and now I just check her social media any time I need dazzling fashion inspiration or a glam makeup look to give me that confidence boost. Her fashion sense as both Maddy in Euphoria and as herself in real life is the level of extra I can only hope to one day achieve in life.
Emma Chamberlain
The queen of aesthetic. When I first subscribed to Emma Chamberlain on Youtube, I already thought her fashion taste was great but a couple of years later and it has completely flourished. Her simple and casual aesthetic is always my inspiration for an everyday look. My favorite piece seen in so many of her looks: the iconic platform Dr. Martens. No matter what the outfit is, whether it be a tennis skirt paired with a sweater, straight leg jeans and a cute crop top, or a simple mini skirt, the Docs always match perfectly.
Solange
There is no way I could finish this list without including Solange. If I could describe her fashion I'd say it's a mix of casual, elegant, unique, and just all-around iconic. Her fashion range is untouchable, and no matter what she wears, it's always a look. She knows exactly how to accessorize and can rock a suit, a dress, sweatpants, or even a mixture of those pieces together. Every outfit of hers has a statement piece and I just live for it.
