With cold weather shortly, approaching, or already here in some places, here are my five favorite things about fall!

1. The changing colors of leaves

The park blocks at my school are filled with trees. One of my favorite parts about attending PSU is being able to watch the trees change color over the few months of fall. It also makes a good opportunity to Instagram pictures of the changing leaves.

2. It's not disgustingly hot anymore

Last summer it hit over 100 degrees in Portland, which is unusual. I love fall weather because it's not too hot and not too cold. I always hate walking to class and looking like I ran a marathon from the heat outside during the spring, so the cool weather is a nice change.

3. Halloween is coming

Halloween is coming up, which means Christmas follows not too long afterward.

4. Rain!

Here in the Pacific Northwest, there is plenty of rain to be had. I even invested in a good pair of rain boots for the sake of puddle jumping.

5. Pumpkins are everywhere and in everything

While I'm not a huge fan of the Pumpkin Spice Latte, I enjoy trips to the pumpkin patch and eating pumpkin pie.
