The Land Before Time was my all time favorite shows/movies when I was younger. One year my Granny bought me all the movies on DVD, and I have them at college with me. I loved The Land Before Time so much that I named my Granny's bird Spike, and I would always remember one of my moms co-workers as 'Sarah 3 horn' because her name was Sarah. The Land Before Time has so many amazing life lessons incorporated in every movie. I have found myself listening to the songs while I prepare for finals week, and here is the list I came up with that accurately describes growing up, being in college, and facing finals week.
"When life is tough, you gotta be tougher if you wanna stay alive. You can't run around in circles wondering what to do. Someone's gotta be the voice of reason, is it you? Don't stand around here talking! I say that's not enough! No tears, no sighs, don't close your eyes, we gotta stand tough!"
This is my theme song for pushing through study guides in preparation for final exams!
"The circle of life is simple, yet profound. A quite straight forward line that goes around and round and round. It starts at the beginning, and it will never end, and that to me must surely be life's secret, my friend. For the circle of life continues everyday. None of us can stop it from going on its way"
This song, to me, is such a beautiful song that really reminds you that life is a beautiful and precious thing and there is nothing you can do to keep it from progressing.
"It takes all sorts to make a world. Short and tall shorts, large and small sorts. To fill this pretty planet with love and laughter. To make it great to live in, tomorrow and the day after"
This is another beautiful song that reminds us that everyone is different and instead of judging and excluding someone for their differences. We should embrace them because everyone brings something new, fresh, and exciting to the table.
"Always there, someone you can count on to comfort you. Always there like a green, green valley you can come home to."
This song always comforts me. It reminds me that even when things get rough at college or when it feels like everyone you know has turned their back on you, your parents will always be there. I can not express how many times I have called my parents or just drive home because I needed someone.
"Wherever you will go, when you reach your journey's end. No matter what we'll always be your friends."
This is such a heartwarming song for me. In life, people will come and go and the ones who care the most will always be there no matter how far apart you are. This song reminds me of the few friends that I know will always be there and will always be in my heart.
"Beyond the Mysterious Beyond, out past the smallest light that's twinkling. You cannot even have an inkling of what is going on. Think of the things that we could see there! Oh, how I wish that we could be there all of my friends and me."
This song encourages you to travel! Don't just stay in one place because you are comfortable. Go and explore. Go discover new things and see beautiful sights for yourself! Its a big, big world we live in.
"And when you're really, really, really, really, really mad and you've got to let off steam. Take a deep breath. Throw back your head. Stand on your toes, and scream!"
Sometimes, with the stress of finals and college and life in general, you just need to scream. You need to step back and just let it all out. This song reassures you that it is totally cool to do that!
"Don't lose your way with each passing day. You've come so far, don't throw it away. Live believing. Dreams are for weaving. Wonders are waiting to start. Live your story. Faith, hope, and glory. Hold to the truth in your heart. If we hold on together, I know our dreams will never die. Dreams see us through to forever. Where clouds roll by for you and I."
This song is just another reminder that you have to keep pushing though. The journey is the best part of life. Keep the best of people around you and know that they will always be there for you. Get though the tough times together, and the rest will be a piece of cake.
This is just some of my favorite songs from The Land Before Time. There are so much more songs and lessons to be learned! Check them out! You heart will feel all warm and fuzzy inside when you are done!
