The Best Beauty Products Of 2016 To Bring Into 2017

I finally decided to open up and share my beauty "secrets"!

The Best Beauty Products Of 2016 To Bring Into 2017

Face:

Maybelline Face Studio Master Prime

I can not say enough about this primer. It is my ride or die product. I know so many people are constantly trying to find a good drugstore primer, so when I found this one I knew I had hit the jack pot! This primer fills in my pores and provides a clean, smooth slate for me to apply my makeup on. It's tackiness holds my makeup in place all day long! And no, I do not use a setting spray. I often get many questions about makeup and one I get most often is "how does your makeup stay on all day?" My answer is always "Maybelline Master Prime"

L'Oréal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation

Foundation is something I've kind of steered away from over the past 2 years when it came to my everyday routine. I typically would just use a high coverage powder (see below) but, my love for all makeup products couldn't hold me back long. Seeing as though I have dry skin, when L'Oréal released their new Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation, I knew I had to try it! And I'm so glad I did! If you're looking for a more dewy look, this is the foundations for you. With a thin consistency, medium to full coverage, and flawless finish, your skin will look nothing less than perfect.

Lancôme Dual Finish Powder Foundation

THIS... RIGHT HERE... IS MY... pretty skin powder!!! (I know I'm lame I'm sorry) but honestly, this powder is perfection. First off it smells AMAZING, and is so easy to apply. With its compact packaging and sponge it comes with, it's perfect for travel. I prefer to apply this with a foundation brush because I find it picks up the most product and provides the coverage I am looking for. If you're looking to give your skin a break from all the thick foundations or just find your skin doesn't need all that coverage, this powder is for you!

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

2016 was definitely the year of baking. I didn't really understand this trend at first (and sometimes wonder if I still understand it) but, my makeup-loving self of course had to hop on the bandwagon. I decided to try the Laura Mercier powder first, (go big or go home right?) and let me tell you I LOVED IT!! Not only does it prevent creasing under the eyes, I also didn't experience any flashback in pictures, which is always a plus. After a while of course though, I ran out. And instead of repurchasing I decided to try out some drugstore products to see if I could find a dupe. The first product I tried was Flower Translucent Powder (only sold at Walmart) and let's just say, after one use, I'm making a trip back to Walmart to return and will be going straight to Sephora to repurchase the GOAT of translucent powders.

Maybelline Fit Me and Maybelline Age Rewind Concealers

This was such a toss up for me because I can't ever seem to repurchase the same product consistently. I go between both, and I can honestly say I love them both equally. Not only do they provide the perfect amount of coverage, but they are also brightening and are so affordable! Maybelline obviously knows what they're doing in the concealer department.

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny

My holy grail!! This bronzer is hands down the only bronzer I will probably ever use. When I started out with makeup, I purchased this bronzer because it was only $3 at the drugstore, I used it how I thought you were supposed to use bronzer and then as I began learning more and more about makeup and what to look for in products, I found that this bronzer couldn't be more perfect. It's affordable, blends perfectly, doesn't look muddy, and gives you that perfect bronze glow.

NARSissist palette: Enrapture Blush and Enthralled Blush

If I had to leave out one product in this article, it would probably be blush. Now, I don't ever skip the blush step in my makeup routine, but I don't seem to experiment much with blushes. Seeing as though the blush category is the fewest in my collection, I could only pick from a small selection. But these NARS blushes are my go to. I wear them almost everyday with nearly every makeup look. They are beautiful and would compliment almost any skin tone.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Sun Dipped

Another Anastasia product? What? These glow kits were all the craze this summer and of course I caved and got one. I love the true highlight this kit gives me. They all have smooth finishes and don't come off chunky looking, which I know can often be the problem with highlighter. I wore this highlighter everyday and even had GUYS compliment me on it, "what is that on your face? You're like, glowing!!" Thank you Anastasia. If that doesn't say "you need this product in your life", I don't know what does.

Eyes:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette

I did it. I bought the Modern Renaissance palette. I contemplated getting it for months, and now that I have it I wonder why I waited so long! This palette is perfect for those who love the warm tone shadows. They are so pigmented and blend seamlessly. And the fact that it comes with a brush is a plus too! You can't go wrong with this palette.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

I truly can't say enough about this product. It is AMAZING. I already naturally have pretty long lashes, but through my years of doing makeup I always went with drugstore mascara, and after a while I started noticing how little it really did for my eyelashes. I felt like they always just looked the same length, same fullness, just darker from the mascara. Then I decided to try this baby and I'm never going back! It makes my eyelashes as long as I want them, as full as I want them, and it holds a curl perfectly! It is a little pricey but one tube usually lasts me a good 8 months.

Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner

My go to. This eyeliner is perfection in my book and is the reason I have only ever tried one other liquid liner. I tried one by L'Oréal and it was awful. It burned my eyes and I had very little control over the wand. With Line Stiletto, I have the control I want to get the perfect wing. Winged eyeliner is basically what I'm known for. No look is completely for me without a good winged liner. I just hope Maybelline doesn't decide to discontinue this product anytime soon, or else I'll be clearing off the shelves at every drugstore.

Lips:

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

2016 was also the year of liquid lips. Everyone wanted the matte look and would try almost every liquid lipstick any brand came out with. I for one, fell in love with the Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks. They are so creamy and do not dry out my lips. I love their color selection and find they are very easy to apply. My favorite colors of the year were Lolita and Bow N Arrow. I'm telling y'all, you need these colors in your life! They are perfection.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
