Social media Is taking over the world. Especially, the world of fashion. Social media has changed fashion is a huge way. Social media has changed fashion in a good way. Now, on social media you can get the latest news on your favorite designers and find out about the sales that are going on, in your favorite stores. Social media has changed fashion in another way, designers and stores can reach their fans/customers on a different level. Designers and stores can reach a different audience, when they are on social media. Social media gives designers and stores a way to brand themselves differently, by the target audience they are trying to reach. There are many different social media sites, that designers and stores use today.I'm going to talk about the main social media platforms and how designers and stores uses these platforms to at and fans.
1. Instagram
Instagram is one of the biggest social media platform there is. When it comes to fashion, Instagram helps designers and stores in many ways. Designers can show photos of their upcoming lines or take pictures of their sketches. They also can show a preview of upcoming things, that they are working on now. They can talk about their brand-awareness and certain charities they are donating to, to get their fans to donate as well. Designers can post photos of celebrities wearing their designs on the red carpet events. When it comes to stores, things are a little bit different on Instagram. Stores can use Instagram for sale promotions, and events that are happening in the stores. They can talk about exclusive products and have actual fans post photos of the clothing that they are wearing, from the store. Stores, can also talk about V.I.P. cards and memberships for their most loyal customers. They can also, talk about their brand-awareness.
2. YouTube
Some people don't think YouTube is a platform for fashion, but it is. So many designers upload their runway shows to YouTube, so their fans can see their new looks for the season.Even when it comes to vloggers, they use YouTube as a platform for expressing their style and giving opinions on the latest trends. Which, I think is amazing. YouTube gives designers and vloggers the opportunity to post videos about upcoming trends and looks as well.
3. SnapChat
SnapChat is very new to the social media platform. But, everyone is loving it. SnapChat allows designers to promote their brands and interact with their fans. SnapChat also allows designers to let their fans view their new looks, in a couple seconds. SnapChat and fashion connects because designers can reach their fans and their audience at a different level. With stores, they use SnapChat by promoting their store and drawing more customers in. Stores also use SnapChat for promotional sales and give fans/customers a chance to post themselves in their favorite designer's clothing. Stores also get to promote big events that are happening during store hours.
4. Facebook
Facebook is another huge social media platform. Facebook allows designers to actually have a page about their brand and show their clothing on their page. Facebook also give designers the chance to promote their brands and advertise their clothing as well. With stores, Facebook gives stores to promote their sales and their store itself. It gives customers the chance to look at different items that store is selling and gives you the direct website to the store as well.
There are so many different other social media platforms like: Pintrest and Foursquares. Social media and fashion connects in so many different ways. Fashion and the fashion industry has changed because of technology and social media. We tend to look at social media for the latest trends and to see what are favorite designers are coming up with next. Thank you for reading my article this week!
