Friday the 13th is typically a day of uncertainty and misfortune. But fangirls on Friday Nov. 13, 2015 were definitely fortunate, that's for certain. Two of music's largest heartthrob artists, One Direction and Justin Bieber, both released albums Friday. Fans took Twitter by storm with excitement over these new albums.
There was even controversy between the two fandoms over the success of the album thus far:
One Direction's new album "Made In The A.M." is the boy band's fifth album since the group's genesis on the British "X Factor" back in 2010. This time, the group released the album without Zayn Malik, a former member who left the group in March. Despite Malik's absence, the group and the album still are strong. The band continues to produce romantic music that makes tweens and teens across the globe swoon. Check out Billboard's list of the "10 Most Romantic Lyrics" on the album here.
Next up is Justin Bieber with his fourth studio album titled "Purpose." This album was preceded by hit singles "What Do You Mean?" and "Sorry." Bieber was also featured in Skrillex and Diplo's single "Where Are U Now." Although the singles released prior to the album had more of a techno vibe, the majority of Bieber's album has an R&B feel.
Fortunately both artists are getting lots of recognition for these albums so far by their fans. As of right now both albums are in the top of the iTunes charts and, due to continual support, will most likely ride the top of the charts for some time. So not only for the fans but also for the artists, this Friday the 13th was a fantasy.
