For as long as I can remember I have known that my parents could cook. There was no doubt in my mind that my family could. The question, however, was to what extent could they cook? I, at first, wondered why all my and my sister’s friends loved our food so much. Then as I continued to pay more attention, I started to notice that compared to some of my friends, I was eating really well. It was this weekend that I felt that maybe you all could have a chance to be welcomed into my world and see some of the things that I see on a daily basis. Maybe you all can get some ideas for your next family meal together.
Entrees:
- Taco Bar: One of our most recent items that we can find on the Cash family menu is the dinner we prepared for a catering event this weekend. For this event we prepared a taco bar for a group of ladies in from out of town. In the taco bar we made it optional to have hard and soft taco shells. To be inserted in the shells we gave the ladies the option of having beef, chicken, or chipotle shrimp. Along with this they were able to add lettuce, cheese, sour cream, and three kinds of sauces: traditional salsa, taco sauce, or a peach mango sauce. If I could be one of those ladies right now, I think that I could go to be a happy woman in need of no breakfast or lunch the next day
.
- Pork BBQ Ribs: A normal 4th of July and/or Memorial Day dish that we would have is my mom’s baked (yes, that does in fact read "baked") BBQ ribs. To say that they are just good would be the understatement of the year. I have yet to see or taste any ribs that are this fall-off-the-bone good. Not that there aren’t any that are possibly better; but, in my personal experience, when ribs are really good, you know. Unfortunately the how-to or recipe for these ribs is something I can’t tell you, for I myself have yet to be told the recipe.

- Chicken Parmesan: The next dish would be a dish that my sister and I made for our mother this past Mother’s Day. The creation of this meal was a complete surprise to our mother. The dish that we were able to make for her is chicken Parmesan and garlic bread, along with a tossed salad. For our chicken Parmesan, instead of preparing it the conventional way that most people are used to, which is by breading the chicken breast and frying it, we stuffed the chicken breasts with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese and baked them and then served them over spaghetti noodles with marinara sauce. When most people hear and see how we do things a little differently with this dish, they most times are a little shocked, but as soon as they take a bite of this dish their mouths water. I know mine is now, just looking at this picture.

Desserts:
- 7-Up Pound Cake: The 7-Up pound cake is one of our favorites. This pound cake is most times the go-to cake for holidays or maybe even that traditional Sunday dinner.
- Peach Cobbler: My sister’s peach cobbler is one that she has been perfecting. She generally uses those juicy, succulent Georgia Peaches that we all know and love.
- Salted Caramel Cheesecake: With these salted caramel cheesecake minis, we get a chance to get both the sweet and savory that we all crave. You can make this dessert in both mini and whole cheesecake form.
- American Flag Cake/Cupcakes: Here we have my dad’s traditional white cake decorated as an American flag. This treat is mostly served during or on national holidays, such as The 4th of July.
- Red Velvet/Vanilla Cupcakes: These cupcakes can be found separately. But if you are feeling a little bold, try the Red Velvet and Vanilla combo.
- Blackberry Danishes: I know that Blackberry is not a conventional flavor that you would find in a Danish, but it is very good and something new and refreshing that one might want to try.
