If there is one I have learned, it is that family is always there. Even if you do not want them there. The thing about family is that they have you seen you at your worst and still choose to love and support you. It may be hard but it is always worth it in the end. Sure, they say, "best friends forever," but is it really forever? Friends they come and go but family is always there.
Since I began writing for the Odyssey, I have seen and heard nothing but support from my family. I have always wanted to write but never had the courage to do it, but then I did and it was an amazing decision! I'm thankful for the opportunity to share my feelings and ideas with all of you. Thank you all for being so supportive.
Finally beginning to write has lead me to the decision to change my major to journalism. This decision was not taken lightly. I came to a crossroad in life and knew that a decision had to be made. So, I knew I loved to write and there is so many different directions to go with journalism. I have felt so right about my choice to change and couldn't be more excited to move forward with this decision.
My family is big and loud. They are some of the funniest people and also the most kind. Everyone in my family would help a complete stranger. The events and struggles that my family has been through has shaped me into the person I am today. I thank the Lord that I still have my grandparents to get to know because I know that one day they won't be here, and the world won't be the same anymore. I'm thankful for every lecture and story because they made me better. I know that my family won't be on this earth forever, but they will be in my heart forever. When the world seems to be coming down around me, my family is forever.
