For as long as I can remember, fall has always been my favorite season. Don't get me wrong, I love summer just as much as the next person. No school, no bills and fewer responsibilities are always great parts of summer, but I have many more reasons as to why fall is my favorite season. In addition to the generic reasons to love fall -- cooler weather, pumpkin spice-flavored everything and crunchy leaves, here are few more reasons as to why fall is my favorite season.
1. Football
I've said it before, and I will say it again. There is nothing better than getting up on Saturday mornings and heading out with your best friends to watch your college team play. Everyone seems to be happier during football, and that's great because this world needs a little more happiness. If college football can accomplish that, I am all for it.
2. Holidays
Halloween and Thanksgiving both happen during the fall. Halloween in October and Thanksgiving in November. During Halloween, there are so many things to do with your friends -- go to haunted houses, Halloween parties or even go trick-or-treating. Thanksgiving is a time for family, and it's a time to remember what we are thankful for and remember everything we sometimes take for granted. Both also involve lots of eating, which is another thing I love.
3. Hunting season
This is one part of fall that most people don't think of, but around here, it is a mainstay. Some people have negative feelings toward hunting, but it has always been a part of my life. Hunting, for me, has always been a way for my family to bond, and we grow closer every year. It is something I look forward to every year even if I don't always get lucky enough to have a tag drawn.
4. Orange is everywhere
This might only be a reason because orange is my favorite color; nevertheless, it is still great to see not only the leaves turn orange, but seeing it pop up everywhere else. Stores start bringing in products in all shades of orange, and I couldn't be happier.
5. Fall means change
I'm not only talking about the changing color of the leaves. When fall comes, so does a new school year. A new school year can mean a new you. If you didn't like how your last year went, you have the chance for a new you.
