With the first leaves beginning to change for the winter, Hope College becomes awash with beanie-clad young couples, Hunter boots in every color of the rainbow, and the few students from warmer climates rushing to the Outpost for the winter gear they 'weren't sure they would need.' The smell of doughnuts wafting from Phelps as we walk to our afternoon classes and watching the Freshmen (who still aren't totally sure if they can make it to class in 5 minutes or 10) sprint through campus with their 50 pound backpacks signals that Fall Break, Homecoming, and Halloween are just around the corner.

For the women of Hope College, this is the perfect time of year to test out the outfits on your Pinterest boards: cozy and stylish. From blanket scarves to your fleece-lined leggings, now is the time! What are the college must-haves for this year's fall season?

1. The oversized sweater -

Easily paired with jeans, leggings, or some glam joggers or track pants, the oversized sweater is a university trend right now. It doesn't hurt that it's also so soft we'd voluntarily wear this every day of the week if no one noticed.

2. The Hunter boots -

This iconic rain boot converts from fall to winter so effortlessly that we've been in love for years. Available in so many colors it makes us dizzy, the boots customize easily with the addition of oh-so-many socks. (Yes, the cable-knit is our favorite, too.) Throw these on rain or shine, with your favorite leggings, jeans, or cords.

3. The beanie/slouch hat -

Now we know this probably began from way too many overslept/dirty hair days, but, that being said, it is way too cute. Now the days of hats for the sake of covering a bad hair day are gone (unless we're desperate), and have been replaced by loose curls falling out of our adorable, you guessed it, beanies. Whether you're a pompon, cable-knit, or simple kind of gal, this hat is totally for you.

4. The brown ankle booties -

This final fall staple gives a girl all the power to glam up an outfit in the easiest way possible. The best thing about these little kicks is their versatility. Perfect for a capsule wardrobe piece, these boots could be paired with your favorite jeans, leggings, or a breezy fall dress.

Happy Fall, ladies of Hope College!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
