Fall has always been one of my favorite seasons, if not my favorite. The overwhelming presence of change in the air has always been something I immensely enjoyed--the temperature, fashion, foliage...I gladly welcome it all. If you're like me and love this time of year, then you'll be sure to enjoy the following ten quotes which never fail to remind me why I adore autumn and all that comes along with it!
- "Autumn...the year’s last loveliest smile." ―William Bryant
- "Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall." ―F. Scott Fitzgerald
- “At no other time (than autumn) does the earth let itself be inhaled in one smell, the ripe earth; in a smell that is in no way inferior to the smell of the sea, bitter where it borders on taste, and more honeysweet where you feel it touching the first sounds. Containing depth within itself, darkness, something of the grave almost.” ―Rainer Maria Rilke
- “Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.” ―Jim Bishop
- "Even if something is left undone, everyone must take time to sit still and watch the leaves turn." —Elizabeth Lawrence
- "Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile." —William Cullen Bryant
- Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all. —Stanley Horowitz
- Anyone who thinks fallen leaves are dead has never watched them dancing on a windy day. —Shira Tamir
- Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale. —Lauren DeStefano
- "In the entire circle of the year there are no days so delightful as those of a fine October, when the trees are bare to the mild heavens, and the red leaves bestrew the road, and you can feel the breath of winter, morning and evening -- no days so calm, so tenderly solemn, and with such a reverent meekness in the air." ―Alexander Smith
Enjoy the colors, the warmth and the transformation of nature being unveiled before your very eyes while it lasts. Take it all in before it is all gone; before the trees become barren, before the colors dull, before the air becomes brisk and the sidewalks covered in snow.
