For all of us who have watched Gilmore Girls, we know that there's no forgetting the opening sequence when the Gilmore Girls appears over an image of beautiful Connecticut fall foliage.
There's no doubt that we've all wanted to live in the cute little town of Stars Hollow at some point in time. With its small-town charm, adorable seasonal decorations, and close-knit community feeling, who wouldn't want to live there? Unfortunately, Stars Hollow, Connecticut is not a real town. However, if you live in New England, you probably still feel as though you live in Stars Hollow with all of the fall foliage and fall activities that go on.
Fall in New England as told by Gilmore Girls is:
Breathtaking Foliage
The best thing about fall in New England is, hands down, the foliage. Nothing signals the start as fall like the changing colors of the leaves. Being surrounded by the vibrant red, orange, and yellow leaves really does bring you to a happy place.
Decorations
One of the first things that comes to mind when you think about fall in New England is pumpkins, scarecrows, and hay bales. Of course, I'm not so sure anyone will ever be able to outdo Stars Hollow in this department.
Coffee, Coffee, Coffee
Nothing screams fall quite like a pumpkin spice latte or a salted caramel mocha. Just like Lorelai, we can never seem to get enough of our coffee, especially on a chilly fall day.
Corn Mazes/Hay-Bale Mazes
If you grew up in New England, chances are that one of your favorite fall activities was or still is going to corn mazes or hay-bale mazes. You might get a little lost, but hey, that's all part of the fun! Just hope that you won't have to confront your ex during your adventure, like when Lorelai found Luke in the middle of the maze.
PIE
Pie is not just for Thanksgiving; pie is practically something you can eat for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. No matter if it's pumpkin or apple, any kind will do.
Thanksgiving
Remember that time Lorelai and Rory had to go to four Thanksgiving dinners? Or when Jackson and his buddies tried to deep fry a turkey? Regardless of what your Thanksgiving looks like, nothing tastes quite as good as eating endless amounts of food surrounded by people you love, especially if you're home from college for the holiday.
Fall Fashion
My favorite aspect of fall is the clothes. From brightly colored sweaters to structured coats paired with warm gloves, no other season quite compares to chic fall fashion. Lorelai and Rory always knew how to dress properly for the season. Luke was also always prepared with his cozy flannel shirts!
